  1. House Host Tracker Guide Promoted by "Altar" Friends Chat & "07 Altar" Clan Chat Introduction We are proud to announce that we now have a House Host Tracker thanks to @Harudoku. It allows us to add and remove open hosts on the host list for both OSRS and RS3. This list is shown in a table format on our Portal page, Forums page, and on Discord. This will be very helpful for those training Prayer to a certain goal e.g. level 99, 120 or 200M XP. Hosting locations: OSRS - World 330, Rimmington or Yanille. RS3 - World 31, Yanille. For the majority of players in the community, you will have access to the basic commands. They will allow you to let others know you're hosting and/or be aware of who's hosting. However, if you are an "Altar" FC rank, an "07 Altar" cc rank, or a house host tracker helper (HHTH) that is volunteering to help out with updating the tracker, many commands are available to you. We encourage you to make use of those commands on a regular basis to ensure the host list is up to date. If you ever need help with a particular command, type !help <command name>, and the tracker will give you a description about the command. For example, if you are unsure what the verify command does, type !help verify. For more immediate assistance with the House Host Tracker, you are more than welcome to join Discord. Table of Contents: Quick Start up for Hosts Host Tracker Advertisers Command List Summary Mod/Admin Commands That Cancel the 3 Hours Notification Activity Score Guides on Prayer and Houses Command Examples: Info Commands Command Examples: Host Commands Command Examples: Mod/Admin Commands __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Quick Start up for Hosts Note: If you are an unverified host, the mods/admins will list you as an unverified host. Your hosting hours WILL NOT be tracked if that is the case. For those who want to get started quickly with hosting as a verified host via the House Host Tracker, follow these steps: Type !verify Type your RuneScape display name. Type either OSRS or RS3. Type either Thieving or Construction. You should only use the Construction method if your Thieving level is not on the hiscores. Type y to verify your hiscores XP in either Construction or Thieving. Type y after following the instructions. This requires you to log into RS3 or OSRS to gain some XP in either skill. Once you become verified for OSRS or RS3, you can type the !host command when you have started hosting and the !unhost command once you have stopped hosting. Your hosting hours will be added to your total time hosted once the !unhost command has been typed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. House Host Tracker Advertisers There are autotyping programs created by @Im Dakota and @Lusfr_ that automatically check the host list on the House Host Tracker every 30 seconds. They are usually found in each hosting location for OSRS and RS3 thanks to dedicated volunteers in our community. If there are none in a particular hosting location, feel free to tag them @OSRS HHT Advertiser or @RS3 HHT Advertiser on Discord. However, please bear in mind that these advertisers are offering free advertising services, so there is no guarantee that there will be one available for each hosting location at all times. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Command List Summary Basic Commands Here is a summary of all Basic commands that are available to everyone: !help - brings up a list of all commands available to you. !help <Command> e.g. !help adminhost - gives you helpful information about the command. !verify - verifies you as a host with a high enough Construction level to have a Gilded altar . This requires searching your in-game name on the hiscores and verifying that you have the appropriate Construction level to host. If that passes, you will be given two choices: Thieving or Construction. The purpose of this is to ensure that you are a member and that the name you chose belongs to an account that you are on. You should only use the Construction method if your Thieving level is not on the hiscores. !hosts - lists all OSRS and RS3 hosts. !host e.g. !host rs3 yan - adds you on the tracker's open house host list. You must be verified to use this command. !unhost - removes you from the tracker's open house host list. You must be verified to use this command. !stats - checks your verified host status, activity score, time hosted, and whether you are a user/moderator/admin. !leaderboard commands OR !leaderboard hosts - lists everyone based on command activity score or hosting hours. !done - ends your current command so that you can type a different command. Mod/Admin Commands Here is a summary of all Mod/Admin commands that are only available to ranks and helpers: [Mod/Admin] !namechange - changes your display name without verification. [Mod/Admin] !allhosts - sends you a DM (Direct Message) that lists all verified RS3 and OSRS hosts. [Mod/Admin] !osrscheck - cancels out the 3 hour notification that reminds ranks to check whether the OSRS hosts are up to date. [Mod/Admin] !rs3check - cancels out the 3 hour notification that reminds ranks to check whether the RS3 hosts are up to date. [Mod/Admin] !host -a @Discord user - lists a verified host on the tracker. This will behave in the same way as !osrscheck or !rs3check. [Mod/Admin] !unhost -a @Discord user - removes a verified host from the tracker. This will behave in the same way as !osrscheck or !rs3check. [Mod/Admin] !proxyhost, !adminhost, !ahost, !ah "<Host RSN>" e.g. !ah "hello world" os 30 yan - lists an unverified host on the tracker. This will behave in the same way as !osrscheck or !rs3check. [Mod/Admin] !proxyunhost, !adminunhost, !aunhost, !auh "<Host RSN>" - removes an unverified host from the tracker. This will behave in the same way as !osrscheck or !rs3check. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Mod/Admin Commands That Cancel the 3 Hours Notification The tracker will remind ranks every 3 hours to ensure the tracker is up to date. It will send another notification per hour after that 3 hours notification if it still has not been checked. There are commands that cancel out that notification, such as: !proxyhost, !adminhost, !ahost, !ah !proxyunhost, !adminunhost, !aunhost, !auh !host -a @Discord user !unhost -a @Discord user !osrscheck !rs3check __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Activity Score We now have a statistics tracker for those that are updating the House Host Tracker regularly to provide some incentive. Each time you use a command, you get a point added to your activity score. However, the following commands DO NOT count towards your activity score: !help !hosts !stats !leaderboard !verify !host !host -a @Discord user !allhosts __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. 2. 07 Altar CC Ranking System & Rank Moderation Techniques Introduction Welcome everyone to this guide! Interested in becoming a rank in the greatest and longest standing Prayer community? Well, you've come to the right place! Here you'll find everything you need to know about 07 Altar CC, from ranking up to moderating. It is highly recommended to read this guide before attempting to apply for any rank. So, let's get started. Table of Contents: How to Rank up in 07 Altar CC 07 Altar CC Applications Characteristics & Requirements of Each 07 Altar CC Rank 07 Altar CC Moderation Guide Different Moderation Techniques __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How to Rank up in 07 Altar CC __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Ranking System Ranks in order: Smiley, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, General. Please keep in mind that It is all based on how much time and effort you put in the CC. You must apply for a rank straight after your current rank e.g. Smiley -> Sergeant. No skipping ranks! You are one step closer to being ranked since you have signed up on our website. To maximise your chances of your rank applications being approved, we encourage all of you to do at least some of the following: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Joining Discord (Mandatory) If you have not yet joined our Discord server and you do not know to, feel free to follow the steps HERE. Discord is a safe and secure way of social interacting with other members of our community, and we encourage everyone to become a part of our Discord server. Reason being is because we would like to have a social connection with our ranks in 07 Altar CC, and it will help us understand the type of person you truly are i.e. cool, helpful, friendly etc. Note: Joining Discord is required to be an 07 Altar CC Helper (Smiley) or a rank above that. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Discord: House Host Tracker (Mandatory) We are now have a House Host Tracker that allows us to add and remove open hosts on the host list. This list is shown in a table format on our Portal page, Forums page, and on Discord. It needs to be updated regularly on a daily basis by ranks and others that are volunteering to help out. Updating the tracker shows us that you are active and committed to helping out the community. The tracker has Discord commands associated with it. For more information regarding those commands, feel free to read the guide here. While updating the tracker, you get points added to your Activity Score thanks to our Statistics tracker. It will make a huge difference when it comes to ranking up. Note: 50 Activity Score is required for the Lieutenant rank, and 150 Activity Score is required for the Captain rank. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Inviting Hosts to the CC and the House Host Tracker (Mandatory) If at any time you are noticing host names being advertised when they are not actually in the CC, it is encouraged to ask them if they would be interested in joining the CC, considering we help others find a house for free. You may ask them either in their own home or through their PM, whichever you feel more comfortable with. If they join us it will help grow our CC community, not to mention that it will create stronger bonds between our hosts and guests. While inviting the host to the CC, feel free to introduce them to our House Host Tracker. This is encouraged by us as this will allow more growth in our Discord community, and they get a free advertisement on our Portal page, Forums page, Discord, and from our POH portal advertisers. Note: Recruiting and/or assisting new hosts in using the House Host Tracker is required if you want to become a Sergeant rank or above. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Being Positive and Active in the Community (Mandatory) Players look up to you more as you progress through the ranks. Being positive and active whilst maintaining good vibes and a relaxing mood will help improve the CC environment i.e. less drama. It will also show us that you are capable of becoming a great leader. Note: Being active in the 07 Altar CC community is required for all ranks: 2 weeks for Smiley. 2 months for Sergeant. 8 months for Lieutenant. 8 months for Captain. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Consistent and Constructive Feedback on Other Players' Applications (Mandatory) There will be players applying for a rank every now and then for an 07 Altar CC rank. In order for them to rank up, they need consistent and constructive feedback on their application from other players. This is when you come in to make that happen. When you provide that feedback, it shows us that you have been paying attention to what's been going in the CC. So, it is essential that you are active in both the CC and on the forums. Note: Providing consistent and constructive feedback on other players' applications is required for all 07 Altar CC ranks. However, only one feedback comment is required for the Smiley rank. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. Rule Advising (Mandatory for Kick Ranks ) This is the toughest duty for a rank, where it requires patience and moderation experience. Before you do anything however, we recommend reading the CC rules HERE until you know them off the top of your head. Once that is done, you may start trying to help the chatting environment in the CC. When you see players not following the CC rules, try to guide them in the right direction. Please bear in mind that this heavily is dependant on how you conduct yourself to them, and whether you feel you should step in to handle the situation. For example, if a player advertises for non CC hosts, avoid saying to them: "Don't advert for non cc hosts. Thank you". Instead you may say "Hey there, we avoid advertising for non CC hosts as they are showing no support for us. You're more than happy though to ask them to join the CC." In addition to that, the amount of warnings you give to players breaking the CC rules is based on their behaviour. If they are being very rude for example, I would not warn them more than 1-2 times. However, if they are friendly and understanding, feel free to give them up to 3 warnings. Furthermore, try to not be very strict and uptight. Players generally enjoy a chat with ranks that are reasonable, because remember we are here to play and have fun. Lastly, the amount of warnings is also based on the situation at the time. For example, it is fine if a player says "wtf who's hosting?". But if they say "f**k n****rs"!" or "f**k this stupid game. I f**king died because of this f**king lag", then they do not deserve more than 1 warning. Assess every situation individually, and then handle it accordingly based on what you feel is right. Also, do keep in mind that warnings can be applied to multiple players at once if they are all being troublesome in the CC e.g. "Hey everyone, this discussion is getting out of hand. Let's please change the topic that is civil and appropriate. First warning / second warning / final warning.", depending on how many times they have been warned. However, if they still continue being troublesome, and you are not able to kick them, feel free to contact a kick rank. They will then kick any players continuing the heated discussion. The best way to contact kick ranks is through our Discord server by using the @07 Altar CC Kick Rank tag. Note: Applying efficient moderation techniques, helping out in the chat, and calling open hosts are required to become a Lieutenant rank or above. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. Helping Players in the CC While in the CC, you will definitely come across players who need help with something on RS3, such as "Who is hosting?", "Why do people host?" etc. Helping those players out will show us that you are a friendly and helpful person. Those are the type of people we desire when it comes to rank ups in the CC. Note: This will help you with ranking up regardless of how high the rank is. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. Hosting Whenever you have free time, you are more than welcome to open your house and host for others in World 330, Yanille or Rimmington. This is a great opportunity to mention the CC to your guests. It is also a bonus if you show positive attitude because if the community sees you as an awesome and great person, it will give the CC and yourself a good image. Note: Verifying yourself as a host on the House Host Tracker and hosting for a minimum of 2 hours is one of the conditions to satisfy for an 07 Altar CC Helper (Smiley). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. Broadcasting While being in the CC, it is encouraged to remind everyone that they are more than happy to mention the CC to others if they felt it was helpful and/or a great place for chatting. You may do this from time to time, but avoid doing it too frequently so that nobody gets annoyed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11. Advertising the CC As ranks, we all share the same responsibility of ensuring the CC is strong in terms of its' numbers. This is not encouraged or condoned by us, but you are free to help advertise the CC using autotypers outside the house portal in World 330, Yanille or Rimmington. This will totally be your decision, and we hold no responsibility if any of your accounts get in trouble by Jagex. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 12. Other Tips on How to Rank up Have good relationships with the rest of the ranks. Be helpful to one another and offer help when needed. Be likeable to everyone in the chat i.e. ranks and regular members. No one likes an annoying person. There is such a thing as over-moderating. Don't be overbearing or act like a know-it-all. Don't try too hard to be a people-pleaser. Just be yourself. It's easy for some people to tell when someone is being fake. Don't talk back or disrespectfully question higher ranks. They are ranked higher for a reason and are there to guide you. Consistency is a key factor in ranking up. If you are an active player and are online frequently, but have minimal activity in the chat, you will not get ranked up. Say the host(s) name when asked. The quicker the response, the better. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13. How Our Ranking System Works The more you do, the better your chances will be! However, before you apply for an 07 Altar CC rank, please read the information below to understand how our ranking system works: The time it takes for an application to be approved or denied is based on: How much time and effort you put into helping out the community in the CC. How active you are in the CC and Discord. How well you conduct yourself in the CC. The rank that you apply for e.g. kick ranks. The more time and effort you put into helping out the community in the CC, the more known you are in the community, especially if you are active in the CC and Discord. This may result in more responses on your application. Players look up to you more as you progress through the ranks. Being positive and active whilst maintaining good vibes and a relaxing mood will help improve the CC environment i.e. less drama. It also shows us that you are capable of becoming a great leader. Kick ranks ( ) generally take longer to be approved or denied, as they have additional responsibilities associated with them such as assessing every possible situation and then handling them accordingly to the best of your ability. Avoid bribing, pressuring, or constantly asking others to comment on your application. This may discourage them from commenting, and could even backfire on you e.g. they post a negative comment on your application. With regards to bribing, this will most likely result in your application being denied. You will notice players posting a +1, +0 (Neutral), or a -1 on your application. A +1 means they approve the rank up, but a +1 without any reasoning does not hold enough value for the application to be approved. A +0 (Neutral) means they feel indifferent as they do not see you do enough in the CC due to time zones and/or a lack of activity in the CC. A -1 means they do not approve the rank up, but a -1 without any reasoning does not hold enough value for the application to be denied. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 07 Altar CC Applications __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ready to apply for an 07 Altar CC rank? They go above and beyond in aiding the chat community to be the very best that is achievable. They are the true legends, and members in the chat should look to them for inspiration and morale. This rank must be earned, so it cannot be applied for. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 07 Altar CC Rank Moderation Guide __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Rank Moderation Guide. The purpose of this guide is to help you with the difficult process of being a rank. Although this guide is designed for kick ranks to shape their craft, it can be used by lower ranks as a means to understand how they can become a kick rank. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Warnings This first portion will be about warnings, and the preferred method: People often break rules within the CC. Almost always, this is unintentional. This portion will be how to moderate people who unintentionally break the rules. When someone breaks a rule, there is no need to bark at them. A common expression you may hear Altar say "We aren't drill sergeants". The meaner we are, the less people will like to loiter in our CC, and when they do, it's a compliment. So here is a quick check-list to do when someone breaks a rule: 1. Recognize which rule they break 2. Politely correct them, here is what I recommend: "[name here], please only adv once per 3 mins as it adds to spam." 3. If they do it again, make sure it's known this is their 2nd warning: "[name here], you were already talked to regarding this, but please only adv once per 3 mins." 4. If they repeat this action again, here is what you may want to say: "[name here], again, please only adv once per 3 mins. If you're unsure what this means, please PM me" 5. If they continue, you may kick them. Here is how you should go about this: "[name here], please return when you follow the rules." 6. Kick Stay away from words that may provoke/aggravate loose cannons in the chat, and to quickly cut the fuse before it too late. Words I'd stay away from are things like "calm down", "chill", "shut up", "stop". You get the idea. Things I would use instead is "How can I help?" or "What's the matter?". You may of course switch around the words or use an entirely different set, but that is a genuine method that works. Note: This is for people who are simply breaking a rule and nothing else. Let's say they are being rude. Here, I'd only suggest no more than 1-2 warnings then a kick if they persist. If they're trolling, feel free to jump to part 3. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. When to Kick This portion will primarily be about kicks, and different situations where you may use them. I've put together a few common situations where a kick may be needed, and haven't been brought up previously, or in the troll section. Here they are: - 1 - Two or more individuals get in an argument. You continually tell them to take it to PM, and they don't listen. After 2-3 warnings, tell them once more, and specify that is their last warning. The next person to continue the argument in the CC should be kicked. - 2 - Someone is continually talking about religion, politics, or other "socially unacceptable" topics. These generally stir up an argument, and that's the person's cause for bringing them up. Simply warn them to not bring it up, before it causes an issue. After 2-3 warnings and they persist, you may kick them. - 3 - Someone is using rather foul language. NOTE, this is allowed providing it is not excessive, and not used against someone. Here is an example: OK: Holy Shit! I'm 1.4k til 89 prayer and I don't have any more bones. NOT OK: WTF? who the f**k said it'd be f**king good idea to put this s**t into the game. NOT OK: stfu dude, im training. go kill yourself. Here, you only need to give them one warning. If they persist after that warning, a kick is valid. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Dealing with Trolls This portion will primarily be about how to deal with trolls. A troll, in our terms, is someone screwing around, purposely disobeying the rules, and trying to provoke others. They mainly do it for the reactions. Whenever you encounter one, you MUST be polite. Regardless if they are annoying you or not, you need to act like a waiter/waitress at a restaurant. We serve the people. I've put together a few situations and how you should handle them: - 1 - The wise troll: This guy will generally try and poke fun, trying to make others lose it. In the first incidence, if with another person in CC, have them take it to PM. If they are trying to mess with you, DO NOT lose it. Warn them once about trolling, and if they complain or start making a fuss, simply kick them. There is no reason for them to be a part of the CC. - 2 - The crude troll: This guy will make everyone feel uncomfortable with inappropriate jokes/remarks. Simply remind them once to keep it appropriate. If they continue or complain about free speech or something, warn them again. After 2 warnings and their persisting, kick them. - 3 - The annoying troll: This guy’s sole purpose is to get on your nerves. Keep your cool, and deal with them. If they are annoying you and you cannot handle them, take a step outside the CC for a minute. Take a breather, there is no reason to get mad over such small things. Just relax, get a glass of water, and a deep breath. You got other ranks in the CC to help you out, simply ask them to take over for a bit. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Attitude and Tips This portion is primarily about extras. Firstly, let's talk about attitude. When you're in the CC, many look up to you. You're not a god, but you can be influential. Keep this in mind when reading this. So you were ranked for a reason, because you can uphold the rules and can be smart with the rank. You are here to serve the people, as a waiter/waitress would in a restaurant. You are expected to be polite. There is no reason to be rude as we aren't drill sergeants. Next, here are a few tips: 1. Try to only have one person at a time moderating the CC, but have several others watching just in case. 2. If someone is getting flustered, ask them to take a break and relax. Tell them you, or someone else has the CC, so not to worry. 3. Spammers. When there is a spammer, kick the name ASAP. You may misclick, and that's ok, it's not the end of the world. Simply apologise to whoever you kicked accidentally and move on. Lastly, moderating the CC is unique. Here are a few things you'll want to know: 1. Sometimes you'll need to make on-the-spot decisions. You've been given the power to kick for a reason, so use it wisely but use it as a last resort. 2. The people in the CC can tear you apart emotionally. People have even cried before from it. Not to intimidate you, but you need to be prepared for this. Have a polite side, but not too polite. Don't be aggressive, but don't be too passive. There is a fine balance to it. A chat would be nothing without its' members and the ranks. We thank you for your continued support of this wonderful community and look forward to your growth as leaders. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Different Moderation Techniques ~ Credit: Carfentanil ~ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In this guide I would like to point out that i am not of the mental health professional or a sociologist, but I have done a lot of research and i have worked with people who have worked in the mental health field. First of all you need to understand the types of people in chat and their personalities. Some of the steps below are controversial, but all are aimed at deescalating the situation to resolve it and bring the chat to calm. Different techniques with moderation: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Flamers or Flamebaiters Note: • This person is perhaps feeling insecure and looking for attention. They may be verbally abusive. • They may have had a bad day at work/school and looking to take frustration and their emotions out on others. • They may have personal issues or going through hardship things like: bereavement family breakups, other forms of hardship, and/or neglect, bullying or abuse. • Some people that flamebait may be just looking for a friend or are lonely and may just want someone to talk to. • People that flame others may be doing so because of some ideology religiously, politically motivated, or grievances that can cause them to verbally abuse others (It still is no excuse though). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. How to Deal with Flamers or Flamebaiters Direct Action: Where you take immediate action against the parties involved by either warning the aggressors or warning all the parties involved or kicking someone (This is useful in situation where things are getting heated and are fast paced). Visual Deterrent: Where you kick someone who is causing the trouble, and it sends a message to any other troublemakers. This could be linked to the outcome of direct action if you kick someone then (This is normally useful in a situation where there are multiple aggressors and parties involved). Diversion: If you can see things getting heated, try to divert the conversation into something of a more civil matter (This could be useful for nipping things in the bud or stopping things before they get worse). Deescalation: Try calming the situation down by not taking sides between the aggressors (remaining impartial) and not kicking anyone. I understand though that sometimes this is not always possible. Sometimes kicking someone in the case of multiple aggressors can cause the friends of the kicked person to become unruly and upset. The aggressors that wanted that person gone would be pleased and take sides with the rank that kicked that person. Ignoring: Sometimes ignoring situation can work though not always. But sometimes the parties involved get bored and move on, however this is less likely to happen with larger groups of people (This is useful for where there are small arguments between 2 people, where they will get bored and move on). Pacifist Approach: Try just talking to the person/parties involved to see if you can resolve the issues peacefully (This again is good for small groups of people who are angry or upset and taking the anger out on other people). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Troll or Trolling Note: • People that troll like to say outrageous things or things very controversial, or start topics or debates that may be considered heated. This leads to other people with opinions that differentiate from the troll getting upset causing conflict between the different parties in the debate or the troll's statement. • There is nothing wrong with a debate, it just has to be well moderated as it can lead to people's emotions boiling over. Certain subjects can be what is commonly referred to as "controversial debates/topics". Some are worse than others. Some common examples include politics, religion, sexism, race, plus many more. • Some trolls can be verbally abusive but a lot can read between the lines. A lot of trolls are intelligent and will read up on the chat rules and educate themselves on what they can and can’t do and will do minor rule breaking many times so it is just below the threshold for a kick to be justified. A simple example of this is the warning system. It gives the troll a guideline on how much he can do before he gets kicked and most times will stop before the threshold to kick. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. How to Deal with Trolls or Trolling Restraint: If you are a rank and trolls are getting on your nerves, show restraint. Don't kick as some trolls can see a kick as a badge of honour. It can also encourage the troll's friends to upset you even more. Take mod mark for example, I call it "The mod mark theory". He is targeted in his chat all the time because people get a reaction from their actions. if you don't react, the trolls get hungry and leave you alone looking for another person to take a bite out of (This is effective for trolls that are persistent). Isolate Yourself from the Troll: This is closely related to restraint, however you add them to ignore. Cut off all ties from and when people say (insert name here) wants you to unignore him. Just don't reply, and the trolls will give up and move on. Adding someone to ignore is not admitting defeat, it’s being sensible. A good quote to remember is "you may have lost the battle but you haven't lost the war." (This is helpful for trolls that are getting on your case). KOS List: If the troll is persistent, ask if the troll can be added to kick on sight list. He will soon get the idea that trolling is a form bullying and it is unwanted in the chat. Kicking: An effective way only when the trolls or troll is a single time offender. If the troll is persistent, they will troll and by that time the damage is done. They may even have multiple accounts. However if they are on the KOS list, they may give in when they are being being kicked constantly. False Threat: If the troll is being difficult and you are a person with authority, you could threaten a kick. Even if you don't have the ability to kick, you can say something along the lines of "If you don't stop i will get someone that can kick". This tactic is a bit dodgy as it can lead to escalation especially if the troll is determined. However some people will listen and calm down also because the troll or aggressor does not know your intentions. He also could back off and may think this is a final warning. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. The Spammer Spammers' main objective is to get a message out to a large audience. It can be rude, obscene in nature or used as advertising e.g. websites. Also, it can be used as an insult or to get a reaction. Some spammers are upset due to inner hatred for people in authoritative positions, and so they try to get their message through spamming. There are three different types of spammers: • Advertising Spammers: They are not always robots but they can be, as they can do the job a lot faster at a fraction of a price most of the advertising bots are programmed to leave after a certain amount of lines of chat spammed because they realise a kick is imminent. I should point out that not all advertising scripts/robots leave after a certain amount of lines spammed, but most do though. • Symbol Spammers: This type of spammer is someone who don't always bot but they make rude ASCII rude obscene images in order to seek attention. It has been noted though that some advertising spammers use ASCII to get around the chat filter with blocked things like www or com. • Attention Grabbers: This type of spammer is someone who either: Might be upset and perhaps not getting listened to. Asked for a host and did not get answer, or Not in a good mood and looking to spam to be listened to. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. How to Deal with Spammers Quick Note: With robot spammers, most of these suggestions will not work as you cannot negotiate with a robot. Bilateral Communications: Try to talk to them on their level if they are upset and are spamming because they are not getting what they want. A rank can be intimidating at times, so try to be on their level and try to find out why they are upset and resolve the issue to your best of your ability (This is useful for people who are upset and spamming for attention, or people who are upset with the chat and can only vent their anger through spamming). Deception/Persuasion: Believe in the spammers' ideals then try to explain to them what they are doing wrong and try to set them on the right path. You can even tell the spammer half-truths e.g. "you would be more respected in the chat if you stopped spamming". Kicking Spammers: Could work for people such as attention grabbers (however it could give them a kick which is what they wanted in the first place, so please be wary). But for advertising spammers that are persistent, they will continue to barrage the chat. Symbol spammers may be persistent, as some see a kick as a badge of honour. For example, "barrys blunt". Good Cop, Bad Cop: Where rank A is threatening to kick but doesn't kick the aggressor, and rank B is trying to negotiate with the aggressor to stop his actions thus leading to a peaceful outcome. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. How to Deal with Arrogant People Ignore them. If someone's arrogance is making your blood boil, just ignore them as they may just have an arrogant personality and that's just the way they are. Sometimes, it's easier for you to accept them than for them to change. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. Interesting Theories to Think About Mod Mark Theory: The reason why his chat gets targeted so often is because the ranks there react to the behaviour and constantly kick people which inevitably causes more frustration and anger and just fuels the hatred even more. You do not want to let your emotions get the better of you. Also, as a rank you are going to be targeted, so you have to bear this in mind as you stand out from the crowd (I made this one up but still it's a good point). Plausible Deniability: The theory that people in a structured command in a position of authority will decline all knowledge of any power being abused thus hiding the truth to either covering themselves or shift the blame onto others. This is common in a lot of organisations and chats, and the outcome of this would be either corruption or whistle-blowing. Mutt and Jeff Scenario: Where two or more people join the chat and start arguing with each other or start controversial debates. This comes into the category of trolling/flamebaiting and a general nuisance. This can be sorted with steps mentioned above. Pick Your Battles: If you see an issue in the chat, decide if it requires intervention or not. If it doesn't, leave it be. Otherwise if it does, take the required action. But you don't need to moderate everything all the time, so bear that in mind. Don't Fuel the Fire: Sometimes the actions you make may add to the chaos or fuel the argument or increase the tension, so be careful. You may lose the battle but you can win the war. Sometimes the decisions you make may not always be the most popular, but in the end you will pull through in terms of moderation. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. Saint Toast-Applied Psychology Student (Extra Comments) Pop-Out Effect: People who are different than most people in a group tend to stand out. In the case of a chat, this can be the ranks, people who talk a lot etc. (Wiekens, C.J., 2015) Conformation Bias: This is important to understand for people who try to discuss someone's opinion. People who believe their opinion is right will only believe other people with the same opinion. DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THEIR OPINION. It's almost impossible to change the opinion because the part of the brain that regulates reasoning shuts down, and the part of the brain that regulates emotions stays activated when they see or hear information that is contradicting their opinion. Example of opinions include religious, political, important events like the bombing in Brussels, astrology, etc. (Zimbardo, P.G., Johnson, R.L., McCann, V., 2014) (Vonk, R., 2014) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I would also like to point out you can use any methods suggested here. They don't have to be in the same categories. Disclaimer: I will not be held liable for the outcomes of these methods that are used in the situations involving the chat. Back to Top
  3. Guys and gals, I'm making this thread in the hopes of everyone learning a thing or two on how to actually secure their account properly. The amount of Altar Community Members having improper secure accounts is just absolutely blasphemous and is a HUGE concern. Just the fact that a lot of players don't have 2-step verification on their E-mail associated with their RuneScape account boggles the shit out of my brain. IF THEY GET IN YOUR EMAIL IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING AN AUTHENTICATOR IN THE FIRST PLACE.. I would like to think we as a community want to strive to motivate and help each other to have fun, but that ain't going to happen if you get hacked/phished/scammed/cleaned. I know for a fact if those things were to happen to me (which it did) I'd feel like I got sacked in the family jewels. First things first, lets get through some brain dead things you should know about account security. SECURING YOUR ACCOUNT 1. Jagex/Runescape will never send you ANY EMAILS on requesting/giving information on your account. JAGEX WILL ONLY CONTACT YOU THROUGH THE RUNESCAPE WEBSITE MAIL INBOX ON YOUR ACCOUNT OR JAGEX SUPPORT TWITTER. Anything/anyone else that claims to be Jagex that is not on the official RuneScape website is a gosh darn filthy rotten liar. 2. First thing's first...scan your PC for malware and adware. If you have clicked a suspicious or phishing link, chances are you have a form of malware on your PC. Malware describes any malicious program or code that is designed to be harmful to systems and make your life a living hell. Examples of malware are adware, spyware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, rootkits, keyloggers, malicious cryptomining, and exploits. Use the inbuilt Windows Defender/Virus & threat protection if you are on a Windows operating system. Otherwise, just use a 3rd party program such as MalwareBytes. Do a FULL scan on your PC, and wait until you get the scanning results. IF they do detect something suspicious, they should be able to block or clean it from your PC. 3. Make a new email account just for your RuneScape account. Gmail is highly recommended because.. uhh.. I said so. Also the new email you just created needs to have a password that you NEVER WILL use anywhere else. 4. Set up two-factor authentication on your newly created email. (Use Gmail it's sexy I promise). This can be done by signing into your gmail account and then clicking your account profile picture in the top right hand corner of your screen, then select "My Account". Now click on "Sign-in & security", scroll down a bit and select "2-Step Verification"; and follow the instructions. 5. Change your RunesCape account's email to the new well oiled email you just made! Head on over to RuneScape's website and sign into your account. Then click on the account tab at the top-right of the page, you will see a list of drop down tabs. Click on the tab labeled "Email & Communication Preferences", then follow the instructions. 6. Pick another password for your RuneScape account itself that you have never used anywhere else WHICH BETTER NOT BE THE SAME PASSWORD YOU JUST SET FOR YOUR NEW EMAIL FOR THE LOVE OF GUTHIX. 7. Set up the Runescape Authenticator on your Runescape account. Go to Runescape's website and sign into your account. Then click on the account tab at the top of the page, you will see a list of drop down tabs. Click on the tab labeled Authenticator, then follow the instructions. 8. GET A GOD DAMN BANK PIN. Talk to a banker wearing 29 cent rags/clothes for some reason even though hes a fu#$% banker smh. Players should get into the habit of banking whatever is worn on your character before you log out if you aren't feeling like rebuilding your account for the 69th time. P.S. - Oh yea, set a 7 day delay to reset the bank pin, which will give you plenty of time to keep your items secure in the event someone does brute force into your RuneScape account (EXTREMELY UNLIKELY if you followed the above steps) I hope this helps everyone in the community to better protect their account, because it's honestly sad seeings people lose their accounts/gp/valuables just too some of the dumbest shit, when it could have easily been prevented. Stay safe and feel free to ask any questions! IF YOU STILL GET HACKED AND YOU DID ALL THE ABOVE STEPS, GOD HELP US ALL. SOURCE: My brain, Experiences, Google, Reddit, Obama.

  5. It happens to the best of us, one little link can take over your account and while you might be able to get it back, rarely will you find your bank intact. It can be quite disheartening to find an empty bank but in reality often the biggest harm is not losing the bills, but losing the last couple of mills. This will be a guide on making sure you have means in place to get back running. Not a moneymaking guide but instead a guide to hiding value and money in ways hackers are unlikely to go after. Keep in mind that while stashing is great, it might limit some things you can do or delay your xp/money gain from certain methods. ACCOUNT SECURITY SET UP TWO-STEP AUTHENTICATION FOR RUNESCAPE, EMAIL AND A BANK PIN, AS IT PREVENTS A LOT OF THINGS FROM GOING WRONG. CHECK OUT MAGIQ'S GUIDE ON ACCOUNT SECURITY HERE. Now we've got that out of the way, let's continue! I'm making distinctions between 3 types of safety of methods: High safety: relatively unknown place to store stuff/not likely to be affected when hacked Medium safety: very unlikely to be affected but a smart/thorough hacker might check Low safety: things that a hacker could reasonably get rid of, maybe even banked items. Basically a gamble whether they get rid of it or not No requirements, straight cash Artisan's workshop Description: In the south-eastern area of Falador there's a place well-known as a smithing training area, however there's something else it provides: the ability to store ores and coals to make bars("ingots") out of. You can store up to 4000 each of iron, mithril, adamantite, and rune as well as an additional 8000 coal. While the value of ores changes from time to time, the fact that they'll always be useful for smithing training and for the higher level ores that there'll be people alching the items means that they'll always retain some value and have a slight bit of stability. Rune is the most reliable and stable, and also worth the most. If you can store them and they don't get taken out, the 4000 runite ore on its own provides a good enough starting stack. Due to the high alch value of items and other factors, runite ore has NEVER dropped below a grand exchange value of 9k, which would mean this is a GUARANTEED 36m saved if undiscovered What: ore and coal Value: As of making this guide: 4000 iron ore: ~740k 4000 mithril ore: ~1575k 4000 adamantite ore: ~5.1m 4000 runite ore: ~47.3m 4000 coal: ~500k Safety level: medium Polypore dungeon store Description: In the Polypore dungeon near the duel arena there's shopkeeper that can store items related to the dungeon for you. While most items kept here are pretty much without value, the flakes recieved from creature drops are used for various levels of degradable magic armour. While the lower tiers are quite cheap, ganodermic is a pretty reliable set of armour with a nice balance of value and stats, as well as being able to be augmented and used for invention. This makes the flakes a commonly traded and stable item, with prices historically never dropping below the 200gp mark. With the store allowing 8191 of all items stored, this would make for a GUARANTEED 1.6m saved if undiscovered. While far less than the artisan's workshop, this is probably the most safe storing option as barely anybody knows that this is something that can be done and even if it is known, barely anybody will have more than a couple hundred stored making it not really worth the time investment for the hacker. What: fungal, grifolic and ganodermic flakes Value: As of making this guide: 8191 fungal flakes: 32k(not worth the effort) 8191 grifolic flakes: ~1975k(might crash) 8191 ganodermic flakes: ~2550k(might crash) Safety level: high Tool leprichaun Description: We've all used this guy while farming, yet there's something we often grossly overlook: his ability to store items. While less sizable than the others, it's still a really nice and sneaky way to stash some money for a winters day. It's mainly the supercompost but if you're there anyway you might as well make use of the opportunity to store planks as well as plant cures. While none are expensive(and plant cures are probably less safe to dump sell), together they combine for a value of about 1m that's likely to not change in price. What: plant cures, supercompost, planks Value: As of making this guide: 255 planks: ~200k 1000 supercompost: ~750k 255 plant cures: ~120k Safety level: high, who would even think about this? Might have requirements, might not be direct money Treasure chest(Carnillian rising) Description: After the Carnillian rising quest one of the rewards given to the player is a treasure chest. This chest can be used to to set up a treasure hunt with any item inside as a reward for the one that finds it. However we can use this to store any item we want, including straight up coins or shards, and not bury it. If the chest is destroyed the items will still be inside if recovered from the Carnillian mansion, which can be used as a method of hiding. You could also leave it in your bank, of course, but that would reduce the safety by a huge amount. Requirement: Carnillian rising quest Value: As much as you want in any single item, including notes. Recommended to just put cash or shards in as their value does not change over time. Safety level: high-medium. In general it would be high but in some circles the knowledge of the chest existing is more common Potiion flasks Description: While this method has some higher skill requirements, with 81 mining one can mine 50 robust sandstone a day north of Ooglog(and an additional 25 after the desert tasks north of sophanem). This sandstone is untradable and needs to be processed into glass and then potion flasks(which requires 80 crafting). Saving up these items in their untradable forms gives you a stack that will not mean anything to an hacker, while you yourself could still make the potion flasks. While this is far from fail-proof as hackers that are out on more than just money might drop the full stack, there's a big enough chance that it'll get ignored to keep 1-2k banked, which would currently be 8-16m, and the flasks will probably not end up below 5k each anytime soon. Requirement: 81 mining, additionally 80 crafting to get the money out of it What: robust glass, robust sandstone Value: As of making this guide: 50 potion flasks ~400k(daily) Safety level: Low Miscellenia Kingdom Description: After the throne of miscellenia quest one will be able to store money in the chest of the kingdom and do some skilling activities to get the most out of the money in the kingdom chest. Of the up to 5m(or 7.5m after royal trouble), 10% will be taken out daily with a maximum of 50k(or 75k)will be taken out every day and converted to items of your choosing, including herbs, logs, coal and after royal trouble teak and mahogany logs become an option as well. These items can be worth more than you're spending on maintaining the kingdom, but it will require you to once in a while go back to increase your approval rating. The expected daily profit for collecting mahogany is currently the highest at almost 100k profit a day(meaning 150k worth of logs stashed a day), and on top of this there's still a slight bit to be spent on a different plot. However the prices vary and it's well worth checking out the calculator here for help. Requirement: The throne of miscellenia quest, royal trouble recommended What: Various items of various worths as well as a slowly decaying cashstack Value: As of making this guide: ~150k a day in items stashed in the collection box up to 7.5m of cash in the chest, draining over 91 days UNLESS the cap of items in the box is reached Safety level: Medium Reward shops and useful items Dungeoneering rewards shop Description: While dungeoneering one will recieve tokens to be used in this shop. While the shop has no direct token to gp conversion, the reward shop offers a great variation of rewards with all sorts of values. However the thing we're interested in primarily are the chaotic weaponry, which will require level 80 dungeoneering and 200k tokens to be stored. Why include this in the list you might ask? Well the answer is quite simple: for alot of activities having a high tier weapon is quite a necessity, and while there are enough cheap option that'll do the trick(like the royal crossbow), this is a way to always have a backup tier 80 weapon might you find yourself without another decent weapon. Tier 80 is good enough to take down most bosses, though obviously not as good as T90s, and i can say that a good amount of my araxxor kills have been done in completely untradable, free gear including the chaotic crossbows. UPDATE: with the release of the new elite dungeons there are now tradable items one can buy for tokens. While their value hasn't settled yet, i doubt the items will drop down below the 1tk=1gp mark so you could consider that a thing What: Tokens for chaotic weaponry Value: Free weapons that are good enough for mid-level bossing You could also enter the wilderness and get somebody to kill you and give you the money it converts into, which is 100k. Because this is such a low amount, however, i wouldn't recommend it Not settled yet so not giving an estimate but tradable elite dungeon items will probably result in no less than 1gp for every token, and it's far more likely the rate will be alot better. Safety level: high Pest control rewards shop Description: Pest control rewards the player with void knight armour. While rarely still the optimal choice, the upgraded version after the void stares back(elite) and the superior version thereof provide an accuracy bonus that was before invention best in slot for some occasions. However if you've been hacked you'll probably not have any augmented high value gear left, but the pest control points are far less likely to be effected. Having enough points to buy a set and some chaotic weapons could get you right back into pvm as if nothing ever happened if you don't intend to kill the hardest of bosses. Void can excel even at the hardest bosses but is very situational, due to its lack of armor and it's main advantage being an accuracy increase which is not everywhere required. Other than that one could opt to buy various packs with various worths from their reward points. Requirement: The void stares back for superior elite, none for the packs/regular void sets. What: Tokens for chaotic weaponry Value: Free armour that's surprisingly good for alot of bosses Mineral packs for ~400gp a point Herb packs for ~1.2k a point Safety level: high Fist of Guthix rewards shop Description: Another rewards shop, another possible stash to hide some value in. While this minigame isn't played often anymore and the token gain is slow, it is a very fun minigame and the tokens can provide up to 4k each due to the value of the battle robe set. If you lose often, however, the low token gain will not be worth it. If this minigame is in the spotlight or friends want to do it i would recommend joining, as even for non-stashing purposes the rewards can come in handy. Requirement: The ability to beat an opponent in a cat and mouse pvp minigame What: Battle robes Value: The set being the best f2p power mage armor makes it valuable enough to be worth a couple of mill, resulting in decent per point gain Battle robe hood ~1.5k per token Battle robe top ~4.2k per token Battle robe bottom ~2.5k per token Safety level: high Totally not worth it but it's a thing VINESWEEPER Description: Ever felt like instead of getting gains and stashing something quickly is not enough effort? like keeping the miscellenia approval up isn't enough work for you? WELL HAVE I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU! This minigame is basically minesweeper but in runescape. Just like many minigames from around the period, it is dead content, but it doesn't have to be. You can get some farming xp, you can get level 7 hunter not knowing what hunter even is like what i did when i first got members, or you can exchange your reward points for various seeds. Seeds nowadays are kind of cheap, but as of writing this guide there are a few seeds worth over 5gp per reward point, and the fact that you've got access to less optimal but more frequently used seeds means that if you were to spend your life here you'd have an insanely secure insane cashstack that's basically safe because i bet before reading this you never even heard of this, and neither has anyone else. Requirement: A minesweeper addiction and the mental fortitude of Albert Einstein explaining how nuclear bombs work to a 2 year old with all the technical details... in 1926 What: SEEDS, ALL OF THEM Value: As of making this guide: Between 1.5x and 7x your point amount depending on what seed you get. Palm tree seeds sit at ~3.2, limpwurt are the highest gp/point Safety level: Coca-cola's secret recipe Flatpacks Description: So there's a big problem with this and it's a failry simple one: to do this effectively you'd need a luck of the dwarves and if you still had that after getting hacked you might as well just sell it and get the stuff you need to make money. However if you've completed royal trouble, it is possible to have advisor grim(in miscellenia) convert flatpacks into 10% of their materials cost, which would for example be around 1k for a mahogany table, and the flatpacks for these are roughly 300gp each resulting in 700gp profit. The big problem with this is that he only takes UNNOTED flatpacks, meaning you can only bring 28(+BoB if you want) at a time. The reason why you'd want a luck of the dwarves is for the unlimited teleports between the GE and the throne room. However flatpacks are generally seen as worthless and are hard to sell on the GE so having a couple hundred spread throughout your bank might just go unnoticed, and with a friend or a miracle this might be a method to save a few mill. Requirement: FRemmenik hard diary What: Mahogany flatpacks of varying types are recommended Value: As of making this guide: roughly 170 coins per mahogany plank used to originally make the flatpack, m'gany dining tables having the most per pack. Stack as many as you deem safe. Safety level: Low, posibly medium due to the obscurity and low estimated value of flatpacks This is a work in progress and i'll add a few more methods and/or recommendations soon

Allotments do supply good xp but will not provide any profit to your run and will tend to double the time it takes to complete the run. The primary money maker will be Yanillian hops until you add in Herbs. Profit rate for herbs will be Ranarr > Snapdragon > Toadflax. Toadflax is the 'safe' seed as regardless if they die, 1 patch pays for cost of all seeds in a single run. Experiment with your runs to best suit the time you have to play and do farm runs. At the end of the day the most important are herbs and hops and the others can be ignored without affecting your profit rate significantly. 7. For those who want the absolute basics: buy an item instant – sell it instant – check GE history – reverse the buy and sell price, possibly + / - 1 gp. To start flipping you don’t need a lot of cash nor a lot of time. Obviously more cash helps, however it’s optional. Whilst flipping you’ll quickly notice that there’s several ways of flipping, mainly because of the time involved. We will start out with several types of active flipping. Things to know: · Active flippers usually check the price. · Active flips are faster but lower margin. · Item to do should be relatively stable. Cheap active flips (usually high volume): Cheap active flips are some of the most common flips in Runescape. The basic idea with these are that they’re fast, low profit and used by a lot of players. Think about Zulrah’s scales, runes, arrows, cannonballs etc. To start flipping actively one usually buys the item instant and then sells it instant example: · Chaos runes, bought: 99 – sold: 101. Margin 2 · Rune full helm, bought: 21 765 – sold: 22 251. Margin 586 (picture will come later) Now obviously that doesn’t look like much, however this will quickly add up when you take the whole limit. If you can’t afford the limit it is advised to still flip at least 4 items (if all ge slots are open) and buy / sell at the same time. Why cheap active flips? · Fast · Low risk · Many options · Little required Downsides: · Little profit · Much competition Mid priced active flips (low volume, possible decent margins): These kind of flips are usually not great and for my feeling rather awkward. Even so a lot of money can be made by them. Items in this category include most things between 50k and 5m, besides that they are an uncommon drop from monsters that are killed a lot (dagannoth king rings, occults, sara swords, whips, fury’s etc. etc.). I will also include dragonstone jewellery even though these have a high buying limit the dragonstones are still rather scarce. When flipping these mid priced items you are still going to check the margin, just don’t use the +5% and -5% button which could cost you a lot of money. The reason for this is that you can hit a weird spike resulting in a loss and an inability to flip the item. For instance the berserker ring: · GE price: 2,652,920 · OSB price: 2,670,651 · Bought (with +5%): 2,699,997 · Sold (with -5%): 2,551,003 · Margin: 148 994 Now obviously you’ll start getting excited, almost 150k margin, Great! But this will usually not work this way. The main characteristic here being that the sell price was under the GE avg. and the buy price above the GE avg. When this happens a lot of players will look to the OSB. Price and put it in a bit higher than that, besides that the people who do flip will quickly undercut the initial 150k margin. Result: you lose 150k without even knowing the margin. So how do you do it right? Easy. · GE price: 2,652,920 · OSB price: 2,670,651 · Bought (with +5%): 2,699,997 · Sold (at GE price): NO Wait what, that’s a shame, no margin’s now what do you do? 2 options. 1. You sell the first you bought and then buy it for the GE price and sell it for the orginal buying price. 2. You take the risk and still sell it for less (lower it 10k every step until it sells or you are happy with the margin you’ll get) Why mid priced active flips? · Fast · Decent – good margins · Low risk · Many spikes (this can also be a downside, will come back to it later) Downsides: · Many spikes · Much competition · Possibly hard to find items. High priced active flips: High priced active flips are dangerous, volatile and very profitable if done well. I Categorize high priced items are most things above 5m, think about a pharaoh’s sceptre, bandos chestplates, armadyl crossbow and even arcane spirit shields etc. (it’s not adviced to flip items that aren’t traded much like raid items / elys) When doing High priced active flips it is usually a good idea to check the OSB. History to see if the item is dropping, this will give you an estimate about the safety of the items and what price it should be at. The problems with these items are the fact that they can change in price very quickly, are rather unstable and in time have weird drops. I’ll try to explain my view on these items with several examples. Whilst flipping high priced items you should take note of several things. The first is to check the OSbuddy price and the GE price. How much do those differ? Although the OSbuddy price is a good indicator for how much you can sell it now, the GE price (except with very weird spikes) represents the average price the item was sold at the day before. If an item has a weird gap (200k+) between these prices it’s possible there was just a spike which will be corrected soon. On the other hand you could just take the risk and try to flip the item as margins will probably be great. Besides that a spike downwards you can easily pick some up and sell them a bit later. Example 1: Bandos chestplate, downwards spike · GE price: 13,289,920 · OSB price: 12,870,364 · Bought (@ ge price): 13 050 000 · Max. margin required: 250k · Sold (-250k buy price): 12 921 000 · Margin: 129 000 Now as you can see in the example the OSB price says less than the price actually sold at, this means the item had a spike but that has since been adjusted. Usually this means the item is safe to flip, mainly because you will be able to sell it for the price you’re buying it at, even if the item does drop a bit below the OSB price it is now, simply because the high price of the item will still represent the price people will buy it instantly for (if they buy it instant) and that price will usually not go down 100-200k when OSB price is lower than GE price. Example 2: Bandos chestplate, upwards spike · GE price: 13,689,920 · OSB price: 14,870,364 · Bought (@ ge price): 15 000 000 · Max. margin required: 250k · Sold (-250k buy price): no! · Margin: no! If this happens you will most likely have a problem. The best thing to do is sell the one you have for the price you bought it on and move on. Unless you want to take a risk. In that case still sell the fuck for the same price but afterwards try buying the item back for something like 500k less (in this case 14 500k). However don’t do the limit (8 on gwd items/spirit shields, 4 on raids) but do them one by one. This way you won’t be stuck with 7 (8 – the 1 you bought) bandos chetplates when they drop again. Obviously this example of 250k difference is a bit much on bandos chestsplates, but it happens. Example 3: Bandos chestplate, stable · GE price: 13,289,920 · OSB price: 13,340,364 · Bought (@ ge price): 13 350 000 · Max. margin required: 250k · Sold (-250k buy price): 13 251 000 · Margin: 99 000 Now this margin is very reasonable to look for on high priced flips (well, those below 50m) and all should be good here. The one thing to notice is the fact that the buying price is higher than the OSB. Price and the selling price lower than the GE price. You will notice that when this happens you might not be able to sell one for a while. Oftentimes when this happens it is because either more people are flipping the item ore people have simply dumped then in for the GE price. If this happens and they don’t sell for like, 30 minutes, simply lower them bit by bit until they do. Worst case scenario is that you sell them 2 gp under the GE price. Example 4: Bandos Chestplate, weird ass spike · GE price: 13,289,920 · OSB price: 13,100,364 · Bought (@ ge price): 12 870 000 · Max. margin required: 250k · Sold (-250k buy price): 12 631 000 · Margin: 239 000 Now this is one fucked up spike and should be taken advantage of. Although they are probably dropping, a lot of people will either put their offer in for the OSB price or the GE price. This means that it will probably go back up to at least 13m. Of course you will never know for sure if an item will go up or down, however your instincts on this will eventually get better when you flip these kind of items more. Why high priced items: - fast - high margins - little work - little competition Why not: - a lot of undercutting - possibility for high losses - freezes a lot of cash Most people in Runescape don’t understand how the Grand Exchange works. Because of this there’s a lot of different advice out there which clashes on the details. Should you undercut yes or no? When do I raise the price and why would you do this. Because of this I will try to explain in detail everything I know about the GE and which strategies you can implement to make the most profit. Most things in here are literally common sense, this post is simply to show my way of looking at it and give others ideas. · How does GE decide who buys an item When you are flipping low-end active items you will usually notice that these can take a while to flip. This is mainly because you don’t undercut your opponents who are flipping for the same price. When this happens the GE will look at the first offer that was put in. When someone sells the item this is the person who will receive the offer, no matter how big the quantity of the sell is. For instance: 5 people are buying 30k zulrah’s scales @ 120 each. When someone now sells 1 single zulrah scale, person 1 will get 1 single zulrah scale. If after that somebody sells 10k zulrah’s scales person 2 will receive 10k zulrah’s scales. If after that somebody sells 40k scales, person 3 will receive 30k (limit) and person 4 will get 10k. To sell an item more quickly you can obviously overcut (buy for 121 instead of 120 in this case) this is because the highest offer will get the item first. This will however decrease your profit and is thus not adviced on low cost flips. · How does the GE decide who sells an item Well just like before the first person who put the lowest offer in will get to sell first. As with selling it doesn’t matter how big the buying offer is, the GE will simply rotate between the players. So 2 from the 5 players might sell 1 scale because people where checking the price whilst the other 3 (who put their offer in later) will sell all 30k at once. · How can I get around this? The only real thing you can do is put offers into 2 slots. The GE will separate these offers and will give both 1 rotation, this may however cause you to lose a 10k rotation (when u put in 2x 5k) if the rotations are not lined up. Besides that there’s no way around this except undercutting. Obviously on zulrah’s scales which have a 2 GP margin this will give you 50% less profit, on higher items it is usually worth it though, even if it’s just 1 GP you offer will differ from your opponent giving you the first buy or sell. · When do I undercut? (Undercutting is raising the price a couple gp / k to buy or sell the item first) This is where most people go wrong. A lot of people think undercutting more, or undercutting always is the best thing to do, that however is not the case in a lot of situation. I’ll give some examples and situation that might occur. Inactive flipper: A lot of people flip inactive, simply get to the GE check some items and then go back to zulrah, slayer etc. When doing this it will usually be a good idea to take the same price as your opponent for a simple reason. Ignorance! (this is obviously only an issue when you check the margin on these high end items.) Usually when people don’t buy an item for a long time they raise the price of their flip a couple k or check the price again. When this happens you will lose your margin and you will probably have to raise the price of selling and lower the price of buying if you don’t want to check the item. If however you put it on exactly the same price your opponent will still receive the item you’re flipping, although slower, thus giving him a reason not to raise the price and fuck up your margins. This is even more true because you don’t want to go back to the GE every 10 minute to change the prices. Active flipper: When flipping active (whilst @ the GE) you should usually undercut high-end items and items with a high (unusual) margin. For instance: Bandos chestplate: · Bought: 13 050 000 · Sold (-250k buy price): 12 921 000 · Margin: 129 000 · Buy offer: 13 051 003 · Sell offer: 12 919 997 Here you undercut simply because it’s easy, you will get the item faster and seeing as you’re at the GE anyway you can instantly sell it again, making more profit / hour and thus being more effective. Grapes: · Bought: 170 · Sold: 162 · GE price: 180 · OSB price: 172 · Buy offer: 163 · Sell offer: 169 (or higher if you don’t mind waiting) Now this one is a bit weirder because you are actually still selling under the OSB price. Most likely here you will put the offer in and it’ll seem that you get undercut quickly. This is simply because the usual price / actual value of grapes is higher than it is going for now. Thus a lot of people will put the offer in for 172 (osb price) to get them more quickly, besides that people who stumble upon the item may decide to buy a couple in. Patterns Once you get used to the GE and have flipped a lot you will start to notice patterns. Although I could go in depth on the different patterns and how they work you guys are really not worth that much time to me. Thus I’ll simply go over the easy ones. High-end gear in days: high-end gear usually low during the week with the lowest point usually being at Thursday. The reason for this, very simply, being that more people play in the weekend. This also means that the price of high-end gear will normally be most expensive at Sunday. In my experience prices of gear drop late Sunday night up until Monday evening when it rises a bit again before dropping more on Tuesday. Up until Thursday items will drop with them slowly crawling back up on Thursday evening + Friday. The difference between Sunday and Wednesday on very high-end items will usually be around 6-10% in my experience. Conclusion: sell shit on Sunday, buy it back on Wednesday – Thursday, or Monday if u wanna use the gear. High-end gear in hours: high-end gear obviously isn’t only falling and rising every several days. Usually it is also cheap to buy these items in the ‘low’ hours (when hardly any fuck is online), and expensive to buy in the high hours. The difference will usually be around 2-4%. Conclusion: buy shit early, sell it late. Notes: this is all from personal experience, don’t come whining to me if it doesn’t work out. All risks are you own. Up next: the different sorts of items and what my experiences are with them (ranging from holy sandals – pharaoh’s scepters and from bronze scimies – twisted bows). This will be a long fucker and I’m slow as shit so you guys will have to wait a bit for this one

  9. Hey guys a lot of people have asked me ways in making money and on the spot I tend to forget a lot of easy methods. So each and every day I want to update this guide with a new way of making some money. I will try to include every skill in the game in hopes that one of them will suit your needs. Crafting - 12/13/2017 Making Urns - Roughly 2m-3m an hour. 80k-200k crafting exp an hour Do some research in the grand exchange and find which urns are going up in price. At the moment it seems like Decorated Woodcutting Urns have the best profits. Buy Soft clay from the grand exchange, you can buy 500 for roughly 200-210k gold, go to world 23 combat academy located near Lumbridge lodestone and there you should find a portable crafter. Configure it to make clay items and make the urns. When your done making them don't forget to use the portable crafter to also fire them up then resell in the g.e for a good profit. Herblore - 12/13/2017 Making Bloodweed Potions (Unf) - 8-14m an hour. 3-7k exp an hour You must have level 54 Herblore and have a scroll of efficiency from DG to save extra herbs. Use a portable well offered free by FC "Portables" to make unfinished bloodweed potions. You will save enough herbs to make roughly 10m an hour if done properly. Make sure to have your presets made up and do as many of these per hour as possible.
  10. I've noticed a lot of people use timers that they have to manual click to reset every light, or sometimes accidentally let the burners go out. So if you don't already know, Gilded Altars on RS3 stay lit for 2 minutes and 10 seconds, so I found using this video is really helpful. It lasts an hour, and every 2 minutes exactly it makes a soft-toned beep that doesn't hurt your ears. So next time you host try it ok thanks

But if you wish to download the Discord application, click this link: https://discordapp.com/download. Discord: House Host Tracker We now have a House Host Tracker that allows us to add and remove open hosts on the host list. This list is shown in a table format on our Portal page, Forums page, and on Discord. The tracker has Discord commands associated with it. For more information regarding those commands, feel free to read the guide here. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. How Gilded Altars Work They are built in the Chapel room which requires level 45 Construction and 50,000 coins. It is recommend to have the Chapel room north of your House portal , as a players' compass is north by default when they enter your house. In addition to that, they are the most used furniture. Gilded altars alone give 250% bonus XP in Prayer. They have 2 burners , one on each side. Each burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer if they are lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) requiring level 30 Firemaking, so it is a total of 350% bonus XP in Prayer ! Lit burners last between 2 minutes 10 seconds and 4 minutes depending on the Firemaking level of who lit the burner , so try your best to keep them lit so that guests in your house don't lose XP. You have the option to relight them beforehand to be safe. You will need around 30-80 Clean Marrentills per hour while hosting, so you should bring a lot if you are planning on hosting for a long time. The duration in which burners stay lit is 200 + Firemaking Level + A ticks, in which A is a random number between 0 and Firemaking Level - 1. Examples include: At level 50 Firemaking, a burner would last between 250 and 299 ticks (150-179 seconds). At level 85 Firemaking, a burner would last between 285 and 369 ticks (171-221 seconds). At level 99 Firemaking, a burner would last between 299 and 397 ticks (179-238 seconds). Gilded altars require level 75 Construction, but can be be boosted using: Tea made in your house by either your servant or yourself (provides +3 Construction boost with Teak Shelves 2 in your Kitchen ). Crystal Saw from The Eyes of Glouphrie quest (provides +3 Construction boost). Spicy Stews used with Orange spices from Recipe for Disaster: Freeing Evil Dave quest (provides -2 to +2 Construction boost per Orange Spice dose . The maximum amount of doses is 3, so it can range from -6 to +6 Construction boost). Tea + Crystal Saw = +4 to +6 Construction boost, and Crystal Saw + Spicy Stew = -2 to +8 Construction boost. As a result, level 66 Construction is the lowest you can have to get a Gilded altar , however the +6 boost from Spicy Stews is extremely rare. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Private Chat Before opening your house, you need to ensure that players can enter your house, even if they are not on your friends list. To do that, double check that your "Private" tab is set to "On". __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Providing Bones As a host, you are free to have one type of bones noted (no more than 100) in your inventory while hosting. The reason for that is because some players run out of bones and only need a small amount of XP for their next Prayer Goal . Bones to consider having noted in your inventory include: Big bones, which give 52.5 XP. Babydragon bones, which give 105 XP. Dragon bones, which give 252 XP. Lava dragon bones, which give 297.5 XP. Dagannoth bones, which give 437.5 XP. Superior dragon bones, which give 525 XP. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Useful Rooms Some rooms that are useful to everyone include: Workshop (Level 15 Construction & 10,000 coins). Bedrooms (Level 20 Construction & 10,000 coins). Combat Room (Level 32 Construction & 25,000 coins). Quest Hall (Level 35 Construction & 25,000 coins). Study Rooms (Level 40 Construction & 50,000 coins). Portal Chambers (Level 50 Construction & 100,000 coins). Superior Garden (Level 65 Construction & 75,000 coins). Portal Nexus (Level 72 Construction & 200,000 coins). Achievement Gallery (Level 80 Construction & 200,000 coins). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. Room Layout For hosting, there are a few rooms that will have priority over others as they will be used far more often (and repetitively) by guests entering your house. The best way to think about your layout is to understand the routes that people will take to access the things they need: House portal -> Gilded Altar -> Exit (Mounted amulet of Glory / Exit portal ) House portal -> Ornate Pool -> Teleportation Methods House portal -> Lecterns (x2) -> Exit (Mounted amulet of Glory / Exit portal ) With the addition of the Portal Nexus, the above layout can be condensed. These layouts can be used as a guide. With your own personal touches, you can build a mansion! Oldschool.tools has a very useful House Layout Planner located here. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. House Viewer To make life easier and convenient, there is now a "Viewer" button to add/move/delete rooms without having to remove the rooms themselves. To get to the button, click the "House Options" button: Click the "On" radio button for the "Building Mode" option. Once that is done, click the "Viewer" button: Once you click the "Viewer" button, the menu showing your house layout will appear below: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. Workshop It is used sometimes by your guests to repair armour, make flatpacks, craft items, or to paint items based on their Crest. It is recommended to have it no more than two rooms away from your House portal , so that guests do not have to walk too far. It contains useful furniture such as: An Armour stand (Level 55 Construction). This repairs armours and weapons at a fee depending on your Smithing level (it is cheaper than having Bob from Lumbridge to repair them) as shown below: A Bench with lathe (Level 77 Construction. This makes all furniture flatpacks listed here. A Clockmaker's bench (Level 42 Construction). This crafts the following items for Crafting XP: A Banner making stand (Level 66 Construction). This makes the following items based on your Crest: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. Bedrooms They are used sometimes by your guests when they want to change their shoe colour, hand, sleeve, leg, and torso type and colour. They contain useful furniture such as: A Gilded Dresser (Level 74 Construction). This allows you to have the most options when it comes to changing your facial hair (males), hair colour and type for free. A Gilded Wardrobe (Level 87 Construction). This allows you to have the most options when it comes to changing your shoe colour, hand, sleeve, leg, and torso type and colour for free. A Servant's moneybag (Level 58 Construction). This allows you to pay your servant indirectly, and therefore it will save you one inventory space . Note: Two bedrooms are required if you want to have a servant in your house. Only the bed is needed for both bedrooms . __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11. Combat Room It is sometimes used by guests for fun or to attack the Combat dummy . The Combat dummy (Level 48 Construction) allows anyone to know what their maximum hit is based on their stat levels, and their weapon and gear bonuses. In addition to that, the special attack of an Ancient mace can be used on the Combat dummy if a player wants their Prayer points to go above their current Prayer level . With an Undead combat dummy (Level 53 Construction), it will have all those functions whilst also acting as: An undead monster, provided that the player is wearing a Salve amulet . A Slayer assignment, provided that the player is wearing a Slayer helmet . A Demonic creature, allowing players to test their max hit with the Silverlight , Darklight , and Arclight . __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 12. Quest Hall It is one of the most useful rooms when it comes to guests training Prayer at your house. The reason being is that you can make your own mounted amulet of Glory at level 47 Construction which has unlimited teleport charges. Some guests will like to teleport to the bank at Edgeville after using an inventory of bones on your Gilded altar for faster banking. It is recommended to have the Quest Hall east or west of your Chapel for ease of access to the mounted amulet of Glory . If the Quest Hall is west of your Chapel , the mounted amulet of Glory should be on the north eastern wall, so that it makes it easier for your guests to find it and click it due to the compass being north by default. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13. Study rooms They are used often by your guests to make tablets. It is recommended to have it right next to your House portal , so that guests can make tablets quickly and efficiently. There are two types of Lecterns: Mahogany Eagle lectern and Mahogany Demon lectern . The Mahogany Eagle lectern is for teleport tablets and so it is used more often, while the Mahogany Demon Lectern is mainly for enchantments and Bones to Peaches . The Mahogany Eagle lectern (Level 67 Construction) creates the following tablets for Magic XP using Soft clays and the runes used for the specific spell: Enchant sapphire (Level 7 Magic; 17.5 Magic XP). Varrock teleport (Level 25 Magic; 35 Magic XP). Falador teleport (Level 37 Magic; 48 Magic XP). Lumbridge teleport (Level 31 Magic; 41 Magic XP). Camelot teleport (Level 45 Magic; 55.5 Magic XP). Ardougne teleport (Level 51 Magic; 61 Magic XP). Watchtower teleport (Level 58 Magic; 68 Magic XP). Teleport to house (Level 40 Magic; 30 Magic XP). The Mahogany Demon lectern (Level 67 Construction) creates the following tablets for Magic XP using Soft clays and the runes used for the specific spell: Enchant sapphire (Level 7 Magic; 17.5 Magic XP). Enchant emerald (Level 27 Magic; 37 Magic XP). Enchant ruby (Level 49 Magic; 59 Magic XP). Enchant diamond (Level 57 Magic; 67 Magic XP). Enchant dragonstone (Level 68 Magic; 78 Magic XP). Enchant onyx (Level 87 Magic; 97 Magic XP). Varrock teleport (Level 25 Magic; 35 Magic XP). Bones to Bananas (Level 15 Magic; 25 Magic XP). Bones to Peaches (Level 60 Magic; 35.5 Magic XP). Magic levels can be boosted by using a Wizard's Mind Bomb , Magic Essence Potion , Mature Wizard's Mind Bomb (minimum of level 50 Magic ), Magic Potion , Imbued heart , or a Super Magic Potion . All of them can be purchased from the Grand Exchange in Varrock, except the Magic Essence Potion which was made in Fairytale II - Cure a Queen quest, and the Super Magic Potion which is purchasable from Nightmare zone for 250 reward points. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 14. Portal Chambers They are used sometimes by your guests in case they want to go to a specific location. They contain portals to useful destinations such as: Varrock (Level 25 Magic). Lumbridge (Level 31 Magic). Falador (Level 37 Magic). Camelot (Level 45 Magic). Ardougne (Level 51 Magic). Yanille (Watchtower; Level 58 Magic). Senntisten (Digsite; Level 60 Magic). Marim (Ape Atoll; Level 64 Magic). Kharyrll (Canifis; Level 66 Magic). Lunar Isle (Level 69 Magic). Great Kourend (Level 69 Magic). Waterbirth Island (Level 72 Magic). Carrallangar (Level 84 Magic). Fishing Guild (Level 85 Magic). Catherby (Level 87 Magic). Annakarl (Demonic Ruins; Level 90 Magic). Ghorrock (Level 96 Magic). Troll Stronghold (No Magic Requirement). It is possible to have a sufficient set of portals using only four Portal Chambers . The Fishing Guild teleport is available in the Jewellery Box built in an Achievement Gallery , so we are left with two more portals needing to be omitted. The options are: Varrock, as the Grand Exchange teleport is available in the Jewellery Box . Falador, as the Falador Park teleport is available in the Jewellery Box . Senntisten, as it is hardly ever used. It has a level 60 Magic requirement and there are tablets available on the Grand Exchange, so guests have other options if they need to teleport there. Note: Due to a new room being added (the Portal Nexus ), you no longer need to worry about omitting portals as you now have the ability to put multiple teleports in one room using the same hotspot. This allows you to have less unnecessary portal rooms in your house. Note: All portals require a portal frame, and that requires at least level 50 Construction. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 15. Superior Garden the Superior Garden is often often used for its' teleports and pool . It is recommended to place it east or west of the House portal . The following teleportation methods can be used by anyone: Spirit tree (Level 75 Construction & Level 83 Farming). Obelisk (Level 80 Construction). Fairy ring (Level 85 Construction). Spirit tree & fairy ring (Level 95 Construction & Level 83 Farming). The obelisk allows players to teleport to a Wilderness Obelisk, but not vice versa. It will teleport the player to a random Wilderness Obelisk, unless they have completed the hard Wilderness Diary which will allow them to select the teleport destination. Level 83 Farming can be boosted by using a Cider (+1 Farming boost), Mature Cider (+2 Farming boost), or a Garden pie (+3 Farming boost). These items can be purchased from the Grand Exchange in Varrock. Note: Crystal Saw does not work when boosting Construction levels for a Spirit tree and/or a Fairy ring . However, Tea or Spicy Stews do work. But keep in mind that their boosts do not stack together. The following pools allow anyone to restore specific energy, points and stats: Restoration pool (Special attack energy). Level 65 Construction is required. Revitalisation pool (Previous + Run energy). Level 70 Construction is required. Rejuvenation pool (Previous + Prayer points). Level 80 Construction is required. Fancy rejuvenation pool (Previous + Reduced stats). Level 85 Construction is required. Ornate rejuvenation pool (Previous + Hitpoints). Level 90 Construction is required. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 16. Portal Nexus The Portal Nexus room is an upgraded portal room which allows you to add multiple teleports in one hotspot, rather than having 3-4 individual portal rooms. However, there is a cost for that convenience. That cost is having 1000x of each item and rune for the teleports rather than 100x. Depending on the tier of the Portal nexus , you are able to have a particular amount of teleports. This is shown below: Note: None of the teleports can be boosted for the Portal Nexus . In addition to the portals, you can make a mounted xeric's talisman at Level 72 Construction and a mounted digsite pendant at Level 82 Construction on the walls for unlimited teleports. For more information, see below: When you right click either jewellery, you can access the configuration menu and the teleport menu. The configuration menu allows you to select a left click option for the jewellery, whilst the teleport menu displays all the available teleports: Digsite Pendant North of the Digsite, west of the Digsite barge. Strange Machine at the House on the Hill, north of the Museum Camp in Fossil Island. This is unlocked by using the Digsite pendant on the strange machine upon completion of the Bone Voyage quest. Lithkren. This is unlocked by using the Digsite pendant on the strange machinery north of the Rune dragons upon completion of the Dragon Slayer II quest. Xeric's Talisman Xeric's Look out (Shayzien, south of the Infirmary). Xeric's Glade (Hosidius, by the magic trees north of Logava Gricoller's Cooking Supplies). Xeric's Inferno (Lovakengj, by the lovakite furnace south of the blast mine). Xeric's Heart (Kourend Castle, next to the statue. This is unlocked upon completion of Architectural Alliance miniquest. Xeric's Honour (Mount Quidamortem. This is unlocked upon using an Ancient tablet on the Xeric's talisman. The Portal Nexus also has a configuration and teleport menu. The configuration menu allows you to select which teleport should be a left click option, and which teleports are to be available for everyone to use. Teleports in a grey colour means you either do not have the correct Magic level and/or you do not have the required runes and items for the spell. Teleports in an orange colour means you can move it in the slots on the right hand side for everyone to use. This is shown below: The teleport menu appears to everyone. Guests are able to teleport using any of the available portals, or scry through the portals to see what is happening behind the portal. This is shown below: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 17. Achievement Gallery The Achievement Gallery is often used for the spellbook altar and the jewellery box . It is recommended to place it one room north of the Superior Garden . The following spellbook altars (Level 80 Construction) allow anyone to change their spellbook: Ancient altar (Ancient Magicks). Lunar altar (Lunars). Dark altar (Arceuus). Occult altar (all of the above). The following jewellery boxes allow anyone to use unlimited teleports depending on their stored jewellery: Basic jewellery box (Ring of Duelling and Games Necklace ). Level 81 Construction is required. Fancy jewellery box (Previous + Combat Bracelet and Skills Necklace ). Level 86 Construction is required. Ornate jewellery box (Previous + Amulet of Glory and Ring of Wealth ). Level 91 Construction is required. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 18. Servant A servant is a NPC that can un-note items and place construction supplies in or out of your bank. With Clean marrentill in your inventory , you will be able to use it on your servant and ask him/her to un-note them. This is the best method for lighting, since you do not have to run to the bank. Keep in mind that the servant will ask for payment every 8 trips. To make life convenient, a Servant moneybag (Level 58 Construction) can be built in the Bedroom so that you do not have to waste one inventory space for coins when paying your servant . Note: Two bedrooms are required if you want to have a servant in your house. Only the bed is needed in both bedrooms . __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 19. Estate Agent Once you have at least level 50 Construction, you are able to move your POH in Yanille for 25,000 coins to host your Gilded altar in World 330, Yanille. Otherwise, you are able to host your POH in World 330, Rimmington (no Construction requirement). If your POH is not in Rimmington, you pay 5,000 coins. To do that, talk to any Estate Agent (look for this icon on the minimap). They are found: East of Varrock Palace. Falador, north of the White Knights' Castle. Seers' Village, north-east of the bank. East Ardougne, south-west of the marketplace. Great Kourend, south of the Mess hall in Hosidius House. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 20. Donations Please avoid asking or begging for donations in your house. Guests generally dislike it and find it annoying or cringey. It may even result in less donations overall. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 21. Trolls Trolls are annoying players that purposely annoy the guests and/or yourself for their own pleasure. To get rid of them, put them on ignore list and then kick them from your house. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 22. Steps to Bone Running in Rimmington Follow these steps to bone run in Rimmington: Step 1: Prepare your inventory with un-noted bones and enough coins to un-note your payer's bones at 5 coins per bones. Step 2: Type in the desired host’s name by clicking "Friend's house" after right clicking the purple House Portal. To find out the host name, feel free to ask our community in "07 Altar" Clan Chat. After you type the host name for the first time, the "Last name:" will appear in the chatbox. You can click on that to enter the host's house instead of typing the host name manually. Step 3: Trade your payer the un-noted bones for noted bones. You may need to wait for the payer to use up all the bones. Step 4: Leave the house that your payer is in. Step 5: Right click the noted bones and then click "Use" on Phials NPC in Rimmington general store to un-note the bones at 5 coins per bones. Note: It helps to hide roofs so that it is easier to click on Phials NPC. To do that: 1. Go to the "Options" tab. 2. Click the "Advanced Options" option. 3. Click the "Always hide roofs" button until it has a red background. Once the interface below appears in your chatbox, you can press the "3" key on your keyboard to quickly exchange all your noted bones for un-noted bones. Step 6: REPEAT! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Steps to Bone Running in Yanille Follow these steps to bone run: Step 1: Prepare your inventory with un-noted bones. If you are not using Teleport to House tablets (purchasable from the Grand Exchange and requires level 50 Construction), feel free to skip to step 3. Step 2: Make sure the "Teleport Inside" option is "Off" via the "House Options". Step 3: Break your Teleport to House tablet to go to Yanille in World 330. If you do not have level 50 Construction, avoid bone running for players in Yanille unless you have a Watchtower teleport that teleports you to the centre of Yanille (requires completion of the hard Ardougne diary), or the POH host has at least a Revitalisation pool to restore run energy. Step 4: Type in the desired host’s name by clicking "Friend's house" after right clicking the purple House Portal. To find out the host name, feel free to ask our community in "07 Altar" Clan Chat. After you type the host name for the first time, the "Last name:" will appear in the chatbox. You can click on that to enter the host's house instead of typing the host name manually. Step 5: Trade your payer the un-noted bones for noted bones. You may need to wait for the payer to use up all the bones. Step 6: Go to the bank to un-note your payer's bones by using either the Mounted Glory to Edgeville, the Ring of Duelling (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) to Castle Wars, or the bank in Yanille. Step 7: REPEAT! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Bone Running Efficiently in Rimmington Rimmington town in World 330 is the most popular when it comes to training Prayer . Reason being is that there is a NPC named Phials in the Rimmington general store few steps away from the purple House Portal. He un-notes items at 5 coins per item, so players will never need to bank. However, some players still desire a bone runner in Rimmington. So you can just bring un-noted bones and enough coins to pay for the un-noting while bone running. Quickest ways of getting to Rimmington is by using: Teleport to House tablets , assuming your house is in Rimmington (no Construction requirement). Alternatively, you may use a Scroll of Redirection (obtained from Nightmare Zone minigame near Yanille bank) on a Teleport to House tablet . If you do not have a house, you need to talk to an Estate Agent to buy a house for 1,000 coins. They are found in Varrock, Falador, Seers' Village, East Ardougne, and Kourend. Charged Skills necklace (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) to "Crafting Guild", and then running due south. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Bone Running Efficiently in Yanille Yanille city in World 330 is an alternative for training prayer . Level 50 Construction is recommended as you will be able to move your house to Yanille to quickly teleport to Yanille. If you do not have level 50 Construction, you can use the Watchtower teleport if you have completed the hard Ardougne diary to teleport to the centre of Yanille. As a last resort, you can run to the bank in Yanille, but it is not recommended as it is slow and inefficient even if the POH host has at least a Revitalisation pool to restore run energy. Quickest ways of getting to Yanille is by using: Teleport to House tablets , assuming your house is in Yanille (requires level 50 Construction). Alternatively, you may use a Scroll of Redirection (obtained from Nightmare Zone minigame near Yanille bank) on a Teleport to House tablet . You need to talk to an Estate Agent to move your house to Yanille for 25,000 coins. They are found in Varrock, Falador, Seers' Village, East Ardougne, and Kourend. Watchtower teleport . It is more convenient if it teleports you to the centre of Yanille (requires completion of the hard Ardougne diary). Ring of Duelling to "Castle Wars", and then running due east. Nightmare Zone minigame teleport. Minigame teleports have a cooldown of 20 minutes. To use this minigame teleport, it requires completion of at least 5 of the quests listed here. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. How to Join "07 Altar" Clan Chat We have a community dedicated to helping players find an open house. It has been open since 2013, so well over 4 years! Before following the steps below, remember to ensure that your "Clan" is turned "On". If you would like to join our community, follow these steps: Step 1: Click the "Clan Chat" tab at the bottom left of the interface as shown below. Once that is done, click the "Join Chat" button. Step 2: Type in the name of the Clan Chat and then press enter. In this case, type: 07 Altar Step 3: You have now joined our community chat! To talk, put a forward slash at the start of each sentence that you type. E.g. /Hi everyone! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. How Bone Running Works Bone running is essentially two players trading 27+ un-noted bones for 27+ noted bones + payment. This will allow the player training Prayer to never leave the house. It is usually 5,000-10,000 coins per trip, so it can get costly in the long run. If you are offering to bone run, you may advertise your service once every 3 minutes, or unless someone asks. Before you decide to bone run, double check that you can afford 27+ bones that your payer is using to transfer via trading. For those paying a bone runner, avoid situations where you give around 100+ bones for free to the runner. They will most likely steal your bones and log out. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. How Advertising Works Advertising is essentially saying a particular host is open for a certain amount of hours. You may offer to advertise for a host every 3 minutes in "07 Altar" Clan Chat unless you found a host to advertise for. Avoid spamming the Yanille portal excessively, or you may risk a mute or ban to your account. Not to mention, constant spam can annoy other players. We prefer it if you hand typed the advertisement, but it is entirely your choice. You can use an autotyper if you want, but bear in mind that we are not held responsible for any mutes or bans that are applied to your account. It is generally best to accept the payment for advertising after you have advertised the correct number of hours for the host. But if you insist on an early payment, perhaps set up a deal where half is paid up front and half later. While advertising, feel free to mention 07 Altar clan chat to those outside the purple House Portal. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. How Burner Lighting Works For those unsure what the burners do, each burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer for players that are using bones on the Gilded altar . They must be lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) so they give bonus XP. They die out between 2 minutes 10 seconds and 4 minutes depending on the Firemaking level of who lit the burner . Double check how long burners last with your Firemaking level before you offer to light burners for a host. To start off, bring an inventory of Clean Marrentills . Please bear in mind that you need at least level 30 Firemaking to light the burners . Pay attention to the burner as best as you can. It helps to have a countdown timer every 1 minute 40 seconds to 2 minutes 40 seconds depending on your Firemaking level to relight the burner so that it never becomes unlit. If your host allows it, feel free to mention "07 Altar" Clan Chat every now and then to the guests of the host. Payment for lighting burners for a host varies. Avoid asking or begging for donations , as you are in someone else's home and many players find it annoying or cringey. It helps to be nice to everyone that are currently training Prayer in the house so that no drama can arise. Not to mention, you may even have a good time and make more friends. Back to Top

Steps to Training Prayer in Rimmington Follow these steps to train Prayer in Rimmington: Step 1: Prepare your inventory with noted bones, un-noted bones, and enough coins to un-note all your bones at 5 coins per bones. Step 3: Right click your bones, click "Use", and then click the Gilded altar. The game does the rest of the bones for you automatically. Step 4: Leave the house once you have no bones left. Step 5: Right click your bones, click "Use", and then click Phials NPC in Rimmington general store to un-note your bones at 5 coins per bones. Note: It helps to hide roofs so that it is easier to click on Phials NPC. To do that: 1. Go to the "Options" tab. 2. Click the "Advanced Options" option. 3. Click the "Always hide roofs" button until it has a red background. Once the interface below appears in your chatbox, you can press the "3" key on your keyboard to quickly exchange all your noted bones for un-noted bones. Step 6: REPEAT! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Steps to Training Prayer in Yanille Follow these steps to train Prayer in Yanille: Step 1: Prepare your inventory with un-noted bones. Step 2: Make sure the "Teleport Inside" option is "Off" via the "House Options". Step 3: Break your Teleport to House tablet (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) to go to Yanille in World 330. If you do not have level 50 Construction, you can use a Watchtower teleport that teleports you to the centre of Yanille (requires completion of the hard Ardougne diary). Otherwise, you can use the bank in Yanille, but it is slow and inefficient even if the POH host has at least a Revitalisation pool or better to restore run energy. Step 5: Right click your bones, click "Use", and then click the Gilded altar. The game does the rest of the bones for you automatically. Step 6: Once you have no bones left, go to the bank to get more bones by using either the Mounted Glory to Edgeville, the Ring of Duelling (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) to Castle Wars, or the bank in Yanille. Step 7: REPEAT! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Training Prayer Efficiently in Rimmington Rimmington town in World 330 is the most popular when it comes to training Prayer . Reason being is that there is a NPC named Phials in the Rimmington general store few steps away from the purple House Portal. He un-notes items 5 coins per item, so you will never need to bank. You can just bring bones and enough coins to pay for the un-noting. Training Prayer Efficiently in Yanille Yanille city in World 330 is an alternative for training Prayer . Level 50 Construction is recommended as you will be able to move your house to Yanille to quickly teleport to Yanille. A bone runner can be a great way to quickly gain experience, but it can be a little costly such as 5,000-10,000 coins per inventory. If none of those options meet your fulfilments, you can use the Watchtower teleport if you have completed the hard Ardougne diary to teleport to the centre of Yanille. As a last resort, you can run to the bank in Yanille, but it is not recommended as it is slow and inefficient even if the POH host has at least a Revitalisation pool or better to restore run energy. How Gilded Altars Work For those unsure how Gilded altars work, they alone give 250% of the experience you would have gained if you had buried your bones. They have 2 burners , one on each side. Each type of burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer if they are lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock) requiring level 30 Firemaking. So overall, it is a total of 350% bonus XP in Prayer ! Lit burners last between 2 minutes 10 seconds and 4 minutes depending on the Firemaking level of who lit the burner . They are usually lit by hosts nowadays, so you do not need to worry about bringing a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills . All you need to bring is your bones. You may also bring Teleport to House tablets if you are going to use them. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. Choosing the Right Bones for Your Budget First thing to do is to obtain bones so that you can start gaining XP in Prayer by either collecting them from monster drops, or buying them from the Grand Exchange in Varrock. If you got lots of coins laying around, you may buy one of the best bones such as Lava dragon bones , Dagannoth bones , or Superior dragon bones . Otherwise, we suggest for you to buy Dragon bones . If however, you are on a tight budget, you may choose to buy either Babydragon bones or Big bones . Assuming the host has a Gilded altar and 2 lit burners , the following bones give this amount of XP in Prayer: Big bones give 52.5 XP. Babydragon bones give 105 XP. Dragon bones give 252 XP. Lava dragon bones give 297.5 XP. Dagannoth bones give 437.5 XP. Superior dragon bones give 525 XP. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. Average Amount of Bones Per Hour Note: During this calculation, it was assumed the Teleport to House tablets teleport your character outside the purple House Portal instantly. In addition to that, the Revitalisation pool or better was used to restore run energy % in Yanille. For those unsure of what the 1 tick method is, it involves using a bone on the Gilded altar on the same tick as the animation that your character performs to offer 2 bones at the same time. On average, bone running allows you to use up an additional 100-1300+ bones per hour. Rimmington 1250-1350 bones/hour- AFK method (running to Phials NPC and back). 1450-1550 bones/hour - AFK method (paying a player to bone run). 1800-2200 bones/hour - 1 tick method (running to Phials NPC and back). 2800-3300 bones/hour - 1 tick method (paying a player to bone run). Yanille 850-900 bones/hour - AFK method (running to Yanille bank and back without teleports). 1000-1100 bones/hour - 1 tick method (running to Yanille bank and back without teleports). 1450-1550 bones/hour - AFK method using Teleport to House tablets . 1400-1450 bones/hour - AFK method (paying a player to bone run). 1800-2200 bones/hour - 1 tick method using Teleport to House tablets . 2800-3300 bones/hour - 1 tick method (paying a player to bone run). Those using the Yanille method pay an extra 500 coins or more per inventory if using House tablets . Overall, Rimmington is the most efficient place to train Prayer in both XP and GP wise. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11. How to Find out How Much XP Is Needed for Your Next Prayer Goal There are many ways of finding out how much XP is needed for your next Prayer goal , especially with third party clients. But in this guide, I will just be explaining how to do it on the official client downloaded from the Old School RuneScape website. You are able to set a Level or XP Target for the Prayer skill by right clicking the XP button near your minimap and clicking "Setup XP Drops". Click the Prayer row. Then you can select any of the 3 check boxes depending on what you would like the XP Tracker to display on your screen. Depending on which check box you selected, you will see different overlays when you hover your mouse cursor on the XP Drops interface near your minimap. If you hover your mouse cursor on the top part of the XP Drops interface, you will see either: how much XP is remaining until your next level in Prayer , or how much XP you started off with and the total XP gained since then. If you hover your mouse cursor on the wide black bar, you will see either: how much XP is remaining until your next level in Prayer , or how much XP is remaining until your end point goal in Prayer (XP or level). There are also Prayer Calculators out there to help you out such as: http://oldschool.tools/calculators/skill/prayer Back to Top

Each type of burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer if they are lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock or Prifddinas) requiring level 30 Firemaking , so it is a total of 350% bonus XP in Prayer ! Lit burners last between 2 minutes 10 seconds to 3 minutes and are usually lit by hosts nowadays, so you do not need to worry about bringing a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills . All you need to bring is your bones or ashes. You may also bring Beast of Burden familiars and/or Teleport to House tablets if you are going to use them. Reinforced dragon bones give 665 XP. Searing ashes give 700 XP. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 12. How Summoning Can Be Beneficial For those who have a high level in Summoning , you will find that training Prayer is much more easier thanks to Beast of Burden familiars , as they can carry a lot of items for you. The Beast of Burden familiars that you can summon are as follows: Thorny Snail at level 13 Summoning, which carries 3 items. Spirit Pack Pig (Tier 1) at level 14 Summoning, which carries 4 items. You create the pouch in the machine under Eli's farm, after completion of the Bringing Home the Bacon quest. You cannot purchase the pouch in the Grand Exchange. Spirit Kalphite at level 25 Summoning, which carries 6 items. Bull Ant at level 40 Summoning, which carries 9 items. Spirit Pack Pig (Tier 2) at level 44 Summoning, which carries 8 items. This also requires level 44 in Construction and Crafting , as well as 3 Oak planks , 2 Steel bars , and 3 nails of any type. Once you meet the level requirements and have the items in your inventory , you can then create the pouch in the machine under Eli's farm, after completion of the Bringing Home the Bacon quest. You cannot purchase the pouch in the Grand Exchange. Spirit Terrorbird at level 52 Summoning, which carries 12 items. War Tortoise at level 67 Summoning, which carries 18 items. Spirit Pack Pig (Tier 3) at level 84 Summoning, which carries 22 items. This also requires level 84 in Construction and Crafting , as well as 3 Teak planks , 2 Mithril bars , and 3 nails of any type. Once you meet the level requirements and have the items in your inventory , you can then create it in the machine under Eli's farm, after completion of the Bringing Home the Bacon quest. You cannot purchase the pouch in the Grand Exchange. Pack Yak at level 96 Summoning, which carries 30 items. Pack Mammoth at level 99 Summoning, which carries 32 items. You can either create the pouches yourself, or you can purchase them from the Grand Exchange in Varrock or Prifddinas. The only pouch you cannot purchase in the Grand Exchange is the Spirit Pack Pig. When using Beast of Burden familiars however, remember to take advantage of the Small Obelisks that are available in a players' home to fully restore your Summoning points , which are consumed each time you summon a familiar . They also drain slowly while you have a summoned familiar following you. If you do not have enough of those Summoning points , you will not be able to renew or summon another familiar . __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13. How Bank Presets Can Be Beneficial While training Prayer , the less time you have to waste getting your bones or ashes, the better. This is where bank presets come in handy. In your Hero interface or bank interface, you are able to edit and save presets that you would like to load when you press either '1' or '2' on your keyboard. The presets can load items from your Worn Equipment , Inventory , and/or Beast of Burden . If you are also using a Beast of Burden familiar , and you would like to place bones in your inventory and familiar at the same time, ensure that you press the radio button for the Beast of Burden preset at the bottom. In addition to that, click the cog icon of the preset that you are using to take out your bones or ashes, and then tick the Summoning icon . After that, save the preset, and you should be good to go. The images below demonstrate what to do, bearing in mind that the first image for both interface modes appears while you are accessing your bank account. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 14. Offer them to the Ectofuntus based on the ratio of 1 bucket of slime per 1 pot of ground bones (1:1), and then talk to a Ghost disciple for Ecto-tokens . An Ectophial is recommended if making Ecto-tokens , as it is an instant teleport to the ground floor at the Ectofuntus. You receive it after completing the Ghosts Ahoy quest. There are four Loyalty Programme Shops; one located in Burthorpe near the Warrior's Guild with Xuan, one in the market square in Varrock with Xuan, one in the centre of Prifddinas with Dilwyn, and one in the Merchant District in Menaphos with Wafa. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 15. Step 6: REPEAT! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Bone Running Efficiently in Taverley Taverley city in World 31 is becoming the main location where players train Prayer due to the close proximity of the lodestone and bank. If you have completed the Love Story quest, you can modify the Teleport to House tablet to Taverley. Otherwise, you can use the Taverley Lodestone instead. Remember to activate (left click) the Taverley Lodestone if you have not done so already. If you are unsure of what it looks like, it is shown in the image below. To talk, you can either click the Friends tab and talk directly from there, or put a forward slash at the start of each sentence that you type. E.g. /Hi everyone! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. How Bone Running Works Bone running is essentially two players trading 27+ noted bones or ashes plus money for 27+ un-noted bones or ashes. This will allow the player training Prayer to never leave the house. It is usually 25,000-50,000 coins per trip, so it can get costly in the long run. If you are offering to bone run, you may advertise your service once every 3 minutes, or unless someone asks. Before you decide to bone run, double check that you can afford 27+ bones or ashes that your payer is using to transfer via trading. For those paying a bone runner, avoid situations where you give around 100+ bones or ashes for free to the runner. They will most likely steal your bones or ashes and log out. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. Bone Running with Beast of Burden Familiars For those who have a high level in Summoning , you will find that more players will hire you as a bone runner as you can make use of Beast of Burden familiars to carry a lot of items for you. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11. Making Use of the Bank Presets If using Beast of Burden Familiars If using Beast of Burden familiars , it is best to use bank presets so you do not waste time at the bank. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 12. How Advertising Works Advertising is essentially saying a particular host is open for a certain amount of hours. You may offer to advertise for a host every 3 minutes in "Altar" Friends Chat unless you found a host to advertise for. Avoid spamming the Taverley or Yanille POH portal excessively, or you may risk a mute or ban to your account. While advertising, feel free to mention "Altar" Friends Chat to those outside the purple House Portal. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13. How Burner Lighting Works For those unsure what the burners do, each burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer for players that are using bones or ashes on the Gilded altar . They must be lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock or Prifddinas) so they give bonus XP. They die out every 2 minutes 10 seconds to 3 minutes. To start off, bring an inventory of Clean Marrentill. Please bear in mind that you need at least level 30 Firemaking to light the burners . Pay attention to the burner as best as you can. It helps to have a countdown timer for every 1 minute 40 seconds to relight the burner so that it never becomes unlit. If your host allows it, feel free to mention "Altar" friends chat every now and then to the guests of the host. Back to Top
  17. RS3 POH Hosting Guide Promoted by "Altar" Friends Chat Introduction Unsure of what is involved with opening your house for the Gilded altar in World 31, Taverley or Yanille? Worry no more, as we are here to help guide you through the process. For more immediate assistance, you are more than welcome to join "Altar" Friends Chat in-game, or Discord. How to Join Altar Community Discord Server Feel free to join us on our Discord server if you would like to engage with our community. You are able to join via a web browser by clicking here, so you do not have to download the Discord application! But if you wish to download the Discord application, click this link: https://discordapp.com/download. If you would like a guide that shows you how to use Discord, you can find it here. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. It is recommended to have the Chapel room north of your House portal , as a players' compass is north by default when they enter your house. Gilded altars alone give 250% bonus XP in Prayer. They have 2 burners, one on each side. Each burner gives 50% bonus XP in Prayer if they are lit by a Tinderbox and Clean marrentills (purchasable from the Grand Exchange in Varrock or Prifddinas) requiring level 30 Firemaking, so it is a total of 350% bonus XP in Prayer ! Lit burners last between 2 minutes 10 seconds and 3 minutes, so try your best to keep them lit so that guests in your house don't lose XP. You have the option to relight them beforehand to be safe, such as every 1 minute 30 seconds or 1 minute 40 seconds. You will need around 60-80 Clean Marrentills per hour while hosting, so you should bring a lot if you are planning on hosting for a long time. During DXP weekends however, Gilded altars do not provide additional bonus XP in Prayer . Gilded altars require level 75 Construction, but can be boosted using: Tea made in your house by either your servant or yourself (provides +3 Construction boost with Teak Shelves 2 in your Kitchen ). Tea + Crystal Saw = +4 to +6 Construction boost , and Crystal Saw + Spicy Stew = -2 to +8 Construction boost. As a result, level 66 Construction is the lowest you can have to get a Gilded altar , however the +6 boost from Spicy Stews is extremely rare. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Online Status Before opening your house, you need to ensure that players can enter your house, even if they are not on your friends list. To do that, either double check that your "Online Status" is set to "On" on the EOC Interface Mode, or ensure that the radio button for "Everybody" is checked in the Lobby. Legacy Interface Mode: EOC Interface Mode (wide chatbox; golden diamond icon means "On"): EOC Interface Mode (narrow chatbox; golden cog icon): Lobby __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. How Sips Work and How Many to Provide For those unsure what a sip is or how they work, they give 5% bonus XP in Prayer for 1 hour per dose. They are called Perfect Juju Prayer Potions in the Grand Exchange, but for hosting you should buy Perfect Juju Prayer Potion (1) to save cash. It is beneficial to your guests if you provide them with sips , but avoid giving out more than one sip to a certain player within an hour. It is best to ask your servant to un-note them so that your guests will not need to go to the bank. You most likely will not need more than 100-125 sips each time you host. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Providing Bones or Ashes As a host, you are free to have one type of bones or ashes noted (no more than 100) in your inventory while hosting. The reason for that is because some players run out of bones or ashes and only need a small amount of XP for their next Prayer Goal . Bones or ashes to consider having noted in your inventory include: Big bones, which give 52.5 XP. Baby dragon bones, which give 105 XP. Infernal ashes, which give 218.7 XP. Dragon bones, which give 252 XP. Dagannoth bones, which give 437.5 XP. Airut bones, which give 463.7 XP. Hardened dragon bones, which give 576 XP. Frost dragon bones, which give 630 XP. Reinforced dragon bones, which give 665 XP. Searing ashes, which give 700 XP. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. Useful Rooms Some rooms that are useful to everyone include: Workshop (Level 15 Construction & 10,000 coins). Bedrooms (Level 20 Construction & 10,000 coins). Quest Hall (Level 35 Construction & 25,000 coins). Menagerie (Level 37 Construction & 30,000 coins). Study Rooms (Level 40 Construction & 50,000 coins). Portal Chambers (Level 50 Construction & 100,000 coins). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. Workshop It is used sometimes by your guests to repair armour, make flatpacks, craft items, or to paint items based on their Crest. It is recommended to have it no more than two rooms away from your House portal , so that guests do not have to walk too far. Quest Hall It is one of the most useful rooms when it comes to guests training Prayer at your house. The reason being is that you can mount your own mounted Amulet of Glory at level 47 Construction which has unlimited teleport charges. Some guests will like to teleport to the bank at Alkharid or Edgeville after using an inventory of bones on your Gilded altar for faster banking. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11. Mention to your guests that sips provide 5% XP boost in Prayer , due to the fact that some players training Prayer come back to RuneScape after a few years and do not know anything about them. Mention door trolls that you have ignored and kicked from your house in "Altar" Friends Chat so that the other hosts can do the same. Back to Top

  19. Dante's Amazing Zulrah Guide Since i have 3k+ KC on zulrah, do it all the time, and its one of the bosses many people hope to kill for the amazing drops it has, I thought id make a guide on it Note: Zulrah is still very profitable/one of the most profitable bosses post nerf. People are overreacting on the new drops. It still makes roughly 2m+ an hour at certain levels. Important Information to know about Zulrah: - Zulrah is a level 725 Snake boss released back in 2015. - Its a Solo Only boss. It can not be killed with other players. - It must be fought with range, magic, or melee with a halberd. Its not possibly to use any other melee weapon on it due to it being to far to reach. - Before the you can fight Zulrah, you must speak with High Priestess Zul-Harcinqa first and offer yourself as the sacrifice in place of the gnome child, as Zul-Gwenwynig will prevent you from boarding the boat until Zul-Harcinqa allows you to be the sacrifice. - Zulrah is located in his shrine east of Zul-Andra, which is accessed by boarding the sacrificial boat. This is Located - There is a Deposit Box Located in Zul-Andra right by the dock. After a kill you can deposit the loot and go for another kill w/o banking. - It can be reached with the fairy ring code "BJS" requiring level 76 agility. (THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR MAX GP/HR TO GET THERE) Minimum Requirements For Zulrah: - Regicide Quest Started to the point Port Tyras is reached. - 75 Range and Magic - A Trident of the Seas or Swamp. (It can be done with ibans blast, but not worth it) - A Zul-Andra Teleport, 76 Agility, or access to a charter ship to Port Tyras. - Good Magic Robes and Range Armour. (See Setups below) Recommended Requirements For Best Gp/Hr Zulrah: - I Personally Recommend 85/85 Range/Magic and at least 70+ Defense for efficient kills. - 76 Agility for the fairy ring shortcut in zul-andra. This is the best way to get to zulrah as charter ships are to slow, and teleports are now to expensive. I highly, highly recommend getting 76 agility and using this shortcut. It really improves gp/hr. - A Trident of the Swamp and Toxic Blowpipe. These are probably the 2 most used and recommended weapons to use at zulrah. (Will go more in-depth into setups later down the guide.) - At least 82 construction for the Ornate rejuvenation pool, and the fairy ring in your poh. Having a these in your poh really speed up trips, which really improves gp/hr - A Spec Weapon. For EX: Dark bow, Ballista, any other good range spec. - Vengeance. This can speed up kills a bit, but this can be totally up to you to use it if you have the magic level. If your 94 magic, i recommend it. - A Ring of Suffering (i). This is arguably one of the best rings in the game when imbued. It gives +20 in all defense stats, provides a +4 prayer bonus, and can be charged with recoils, making it the best ring for zulrah. (See snakelings below) The Boss: - Zulrah has 4 forms. These are the Serpentine Form (Green/Pray Range), Tanzanite (Blue/Pray Magic), Magma (Red, Dodge the Melee Attacks), and Jad Spawn (Green, Pray Flick Range/Magic) - The Forms/About them - ↓ - The fight will always begin with the player in front of Zulrah in his green form, and start the battle in the north. Zulrah attacks with ranged only, with the few exceptions such as one phase in the second rotation (attacking randomly) and at/near the end of every phase where he will attack with both ranged and magic in a set pattern. While in this form, Zulrah is weak against magical attacks. (Use Magic) - Zulrah will randomly attack with both magic and ranged, although he seems to favor magic attacks more often. PRAY MAGIC ALWAYS. While in this form, Zulrah gains increased magic resistance but is weaker to ranged attacks. I Consider this Zulrahs Bitchy form. You will take the most damage. (Use Range) - During the magma form, Zulrah will stare at the player's position for several seconds before whipping his tail at that area. If the player does not move away from the targeted area in time, they will be dealt with up to 30 damage and be stunned for several seconds. While in this form, Zulrah gains increased magic and ranged resistance. However, he is still weak to magic attacks. (Use Magic) - Zulrah Will Also Spawn Its Snakelings. Here is some tips with them, and information about them: -Snakelings are monsters that Zulrah will summon during the fight via white orbs. Despite their moderately high combat level of 90, they only have 1 hitpoint. However, they should not be underestimated as they are very accurate, can hit up to 15 relatively often, and envenom the player. Snakelings attack with both magic and melee. It is highly recommended to bring a ring of recoil or ring of suffering (with rings of recoil charges on it) to kill off the Snakelings. (BRING A RING OF RECOIL/SUFFERING) - ZULRAHS JAD PHASE: - Zulrahs Jad Phase seems intimidating to people, but is really simple. At the end of each phase, zulrahs jad phase will start. This phase will alternate between a range, and magic attack. You want to change prayers once you see the attack leave zulrahs mouth. EX: *Zulrah Shoots a Range Attack*, Switch range prayer to magic, *Zulrah Shoots a Magic Attack*, then switch prayer from magic to range, and so on. On Rotation 1,2, Jad Phase will spawn to the WEST, and always start as a RANGE ATTACK. (SO START TO PRAY RANGE, THEN SWITCH TO MAGIC ONCE THE ATTACK LEAVES, KEEP DOING IT). On rotations 3,4, Jad Phase will spawn to the EAST, and always start as a MAGIC ATTACK. (TAKE THE SAME APPROACH AS THE OTHER JAD SPAWN, JUST START PRAYING MAGIC FIRST). It may seem tricky at first, but i promise its easy. *TIP FOR JAD PHASE* - Remeber, West starts Range. - East starts Magic Zulrah's 4 Rotations: - Zulrah has 4 diffrent rotations during its fight. Each rotation has a unique pattern of where zulrah will be on its shrine. There are certain places to stand for each rotation which vary depending on which is used. - A Rotation is random. It can be any of the 4 at the start. Zulrah will ALWAYS start as a green phase in the beginning, then after it switches forms, you get one of the 4 rotations. *USE A MAP WHEN STARTING OUT. ITS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED/NECESSARY TO LEARN THE ROTATIONS, WHERE TO STAND, AND WHERE ZULRAH WILL BE AFTER EACH PHASE. - A MAP OF THE ROTATIONS BELOW/WHERE TO STAND. KEEP THIS MAP OPEN DURING KILLS WHEN LEARNING!! - As seen, rotation 3,4 differ right after its first form, but rotation 1,2 are similar. If a Melee (Red/Magma) spawns after the start of the fight/first form, it will either be a rotation 1/2. After the Blue/Tanzanite phase, it will split to either rotation 1 or 2, as seen in the map. GEAR SETUPS: - Below will be the most recommended gear setups. *Note*- I will not be including the setups that include twisted bow, and ancestral robes. Of course, if you have these, i bet your good at zulrah already, and just sub them in for the weaker gear. Equipment Slot Most effective -> Least effective Void ranger helm OR Serpentine Helm Necklace of anguish/Occult, Amulet of fury, Amulet of glory Armadyl Chestplate, Elite Void Knight Top,Void knight robe Armadyl Chainskirt, Elite Void Knight robe,Void knight robe Pegasian boots/Eternal Boots, Ranger boots/Infinity Boots, Blessed boots/Wizard Boots/Mystic Boots God cape/Trimmed Range Cape, God Cape/Ava's device Arcane Spirit Shield, Mages book, Malediction Ward, Book of Darkness, Guthix Book. Barrows Gloves, Void Knight Gloves, Mystic Gloves Ring of Suffering (ri), Ring of Recoil Trident of the swamp/Toxic Blowpipe, Armadyl Crossbow/Trident of the seas, Rune Crossbow/Ibans blast God Blessing (if using Blowpipe) or Diamond Bolts (e), Broad Bolts, Adamant Bolts. *NOTE* -LOAD BLOWPIPE WITH ADMANT DARTS Inventory: - Your Range Switch for the boss fight (Look at gear on what to put) - Sharks/Karambwans when starting out. Once you get better, swap sharks for Monkfish. - Imbued Heart OR Magic Potion Prayer Potion, Range Potion, Antivemon+. (Anti Venom only needed if using void helm instead of serpentine) - Dramen Staff for using fairy ring, Zul-Andra Teleport, or coins to charter ship. - Ring of Dueling for Castle Wars, or Clan Wars - Rune Pouch with Vengeance runes (Optional) - House Tabs if you have a max house to use. - Spec weapon such as dark bow or ballista if using. (Optional) *IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED OTHER THINGS, BRING THEM BUT THIS IS WHAT I USUALLY GO WITH* LASTLY, WHAT TO DO ON A ZULRAH RUN: - Kill the bitch, after use the teleport on the ground to tele back to the dock if you can do another kill without banking. Otherwise, either tele to Castle Wars/Clan Wars to bank. - If at Castle Wars, bank loot, get more food/pots, and tele to poh. (ONLY TELE TO CASTLE WARS WITH A MAX POH) - If at Clan Wars, bank loot, get more food/pots, and go through the white free for all portal to restore hp/prayer. Then, tele to a fairy ring. (Some close ones include quest cape teleport, slayer ring to relleka cave teleport, or Salve Graveyard teleport.) - If now in a max POH, restore hp/spec/pray with pool, and use fairy ring to get back (This is fastest way for max gp/hr.) - GET ON WITH THE NEXT KILL! HAVE FUN MAKING BANK! JUST REMEMBER, ZULRAH IS A MEMEORY BOSS. YOUR FIRST ATTEMPTS, DONT EXPECT A KILL. BE READY FOR A LOT OF DEATHS. ITS PART OF THE LEARNING PROCESS. JUST HAVE FUN AND EVENTUALLY, YOU WILL GET IT DOWN! -CREDIT TO OSRS ZULRAH WIKI FOR THEIR USEFUL INFORMATION USED IN THIS GUIDE! -Soz if i have some typos, or sentences that dont make sense lol. Didn't read it over
  20. Welcome to Tzhaars, here you'll be slaying thousands of indigenous peoples for their precious weapons in order to save them from their primitive lives, a.k.a. The White Man's Burden Now I've made millions here using this gear and this setup when I'm on task or when I'm not on task Now Tzhaar's are located under the volcano at Karamja which can be reached by a glory teleport then running west to the top of the volcano, climb down the rocks, enter the cave entrance Now once inside, you'll notice several golem looking monsters, these are what we like to call obby monsters (Tzhaars). These all drop tokkul along with several gems, and different obby items at a drop rate of 1/128, except the elusive mage. From left to right: Tzhaar- Ket, Tzhaar-Mej, Tzhaar-Xil's Tzhaar-Ket (Level-149) Uses: Melee Drops: Tzhaar-Ket-Om (Obby maul), Toktz-Ket-Xil (Obby Shield), Obsidian Cape Tzhaar-Mej (Level-103) Uses: Magic Drops: Obsidian cape, and Toktz-Mej-Tal (1/4000 drop rate) Tzhaar-Xil (Level-133) Uses: Melee or Range Drops: Toktz-Xil-Ul (Obsidian ring) (9-29), Toktz-Xil-Ak (Obsidian Splitsword), Toktz-xil-ek (Obsidian Dagger), Obsidian cape There are multiple safespots here that can be used, you range the tzhaar monsters over the vents, you can use range, mage, or melee with a Halberd. Also interesting to note, Tzhaars being lava creatures or what have you are naturally weak to water spells, and crush attacks. Slayer tasks here can make several 100k's of coins and thousands of tokkul, tokkul can be used at the shops to purchase several items 1. Tin Ore - 5 in stock - 4 Tokkul 2. 22. So, you want to earn yourself a set of void armor, or maybe just some experience, well here's a guide to pest control, with everything you'll need to know Pest Control is a safe members-only minigame with a mininmum combat requirement of 40. Usually done in world 344, located on the void knight outpost which can be reached by going to port sarim and talking to the void knight on the docks or using the Minigames teleport in the quest tab and selecting pest control from the drop down menu Once at the pest control island you'll notice there is a bank, a rune shop, asmall archery store with limited stock, a general store, and a knight who can repair your barrows items akin to Bob in Lumbridge, and 3 different landers, which all require at least 5-25 players to start the game: The eastern most lander is the novice lander, Combat required: 40 Points earned Per game: 2 West from that is the Intermediate lander, Combat required: 70 Points earned per game: 3 The westernmost lander: Veteran Lander, Combat required: 100 Points earned per game: 4 Inside the game: There are 4 portals in in each section: Each portal has 250 hitpoints and a certain weakness, but can't be attacked until their shield drops Western Purple Portal: Range Eastern Blue Portal: Magic Southeastern Yellow Portal: Stab and Slash attacks Southwestern Pink Portal: Crush attacks There are several different monsters on the island with varying levels dependent on the boat you're in there are: Shifters [Level: 36, 57, 76, 90, 104] Usually in the center, ability to teleport similar to Abyssal demons Ravagers [Level: 6,53, 71, 89, 106] Tears down barricades and gates Torchers [Level: 33,49, 67, 79, 91, 92] Uses magic to attack over wall Spinners [Level: 37, 55, 74, 88, 92] Heals portals, if still alive after portal is destroyed, will explode and poison all players in a 4x4 area Splatters [Level: 22, 33, 44, 54, 65] Upon death explodes dealing damage to all nearby players Brawlers [Level: 51, 76, 101, 111, 129] Big brute, strongest leveled monster in Pest Control, can block path movement by just standing there, also able to teleport Defiler [Level: 33, 50, 66, 80, 97] Ranges with same distance as Torchers over walls Within each game it is required that you deal at least 50 points of damage to the monsters or the portals within the game to receive any points, these points of damage can be earned by other means such as, repairing a gate or a barricade with logs which gives you 5 points of damage like you would've attacked a monster, therefore 10 gate/barricades repaired in game = 50 damage points, There are two ways you can lose the game, if either the void knight in center dies, or you failed to do 50 damage within the time the portals are up Rewards: Credit to 2007.runescape.wikia.com for the experience breakdown and formulas Experience in any combat skill that is equal to or greater than level 25. The formula is the following: , where equals level; equals 18 for prayer, 32 for magic/range, and 35 for all others. Floor means round down to the nearest integer (whole number). 24. How to Recruit Other Players in Altar Clan Introduction There are tonnes of people out there who are clanless or looking for a new clan! We need to find these people and welcome them into our home, before they find a different one! Being in a clan is an important part of Runescape, as it forms friendships, helps people get through the game, and basically, makes you feel so much less alone. Now, onto the guide! Table of Contents: Key Points to Recruiting Methods of Recruiting Altar Clan Perks/Info How to Invite a Player Helpful Information __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Key Points to Recruiting There are many things that people look for when they are looking for a clan. The type of clan, how many members there are, if they hold events, citadel tier, etc. The number of members in the clan is important. If you come across someone who wants a small clan, then Altar may not for them as we have surpassed 400 members. Some people don't like to be in a big clan, as they like to be close with all members of the clan, something that is hard to do in a clan as big as ours. When we hold events and how often we hold them is important to some people. I believe that we have a good time for our events. You can tell your recruit that we hold our events on a weekly basis. Friendliness is extremely important to someone that you have never talked to before. Be yourself, and be friendly. Get to know the person that you are trying to recruit, as you may be one of the people they turn to for questions after joining. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Methods of Recruiting In-game If you choose to recruit in game, there are a few different ways that you can go about doing so. You can go around RuneScape, and stand in popular places (Grand Exchange, Burthorpe, Prifddinas, etc) and advertise the clan. If you do this, you will want to broadcast the many different aspects of our clan to try and attract people. If you are skilling and there are people around you, it does not hurt to ask them if they are in a clan or if they are looking for a clan. Placing down a vexillum is another way of recruiting. Try and place these down in high traffic locations, and if you are not going to stand near it, make sure your Private or Online Status is "on". Your name is on the vexillum when someone looks at it, and PMing you is the way they inquire about joining. Forums The forums is where most players will go if they are looking to join a clan. If you decide to recruit via the forums, PMing the player is one of the best ways to explain the clan to them. If the player is offline, go ahead and make a post on their thread. When you make a post on someone's thread, do not just copy and paste. Most people will just read past your post. It does not appear to them that you put any effort into recruiting them, and they feel like they are just another number. Bump the Public Thread Simply bumping our public thread is a good way to keep our thread above other clans when people search on the forums. QFC: 93-94-321-63234448. Alternatively, click this link: http://services.runescape.com/m=forum/a=12/c=toPAAwQQjxA/forums.ws?93,94,321,63234448 Tips: Regardless of which method you choose, remember to be friendly. Tell the potential recruit all of the great features that our clan has, and remember to tell them how much you enjoy the clan. If there is something that you would like to see added in this section, leave a comment and I will add it in (you will get credit). __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. 25. Altar Clan Citadel and Avatar Guides Introduction Hi all, For those who need help with clan citadels and/or avatars in general, this is the thread to read. It is going to cover everything about them, from getting to the citadel to activating weekly buffs, so let's get started. Clan Citadel Table of Contents: Quick Important Information Getting There Navigating the Citadel Important Places How to Get Bonus XP Plots and Their Respective Skill Gathering Resources for Cap Plots' Unique Qualities How to Gather from Plots Frequently Asked Questions Clan Avatar Table of Contents: How to Unlock Them as Pets Buffs Skilling Bonus ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Clan Citadel Guide ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Quick Important Information • You can purchase clan citadel boosters from Solomon's General Store. When used, it doubles the rate at which a player gains resources and experience while training at a clan citadel during the current build tick. Players may use the booster on another clan member to grant them its' benefits. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Getting There There are two ways to get to the citadel. The first doesn't require anything, and it is located in the Clan Camp south of Falador, near the Crafting Guild. Simply go through the portal in the middle of it to arrive. The citadel is located on a shard world, so you can access the citadel on any world. The other entrance is in Priffidinas, in the northeast corner of the Grand Exchange. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Navigating the Citadel When you arrive, you will spawn in front of the portal. To quickly teleport around the citadel, you can click on the icon at the bottom right corner of your minimap. Clicking on it opens an interface that allows the admin team to make changes to the citadel, but the important thing for you is teleporting. To do this, click on any of the icons on the map. Hovering your mouse over the icon tells you which area it takes you to. The other teleports that this screenshot shows are mainly the skill plots. Whichever skill you want to gather resources for has its' own teleport. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. Important Places Clicking on the teleport icon in the last picture will take you to the Keep. Inside the Keep, we have several different rooms for various activities, but the main ones you will be interested in are the bank and the Quartermaster. The Banker is in the southeast corner of the Keep and the Quartermaster is in the southwest corner. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. How to Get Bonus XP Before you start capping at the citadel, right click the Avatar Control Stone and click "Attune to Avatar" as shown below: The stone is found in the Avatar Habitat (located in the Town Square), which you can easily access via the Citadel Information button near your minimap: Once you have done that, select the buff that you desire in the available choices: After doing roughly one-third your resource cap, talk to the Quartermaster and he'll award you with a good chunk of bonus experience in one of the skills that we have in the citadel, but capping will be covered later. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Plots and Their Respective Skill ~ Woodcutting ~ (Woodcutting XP) ~ Mine ~ (Mining XP) ~ Barbecue ~ (Cooking XP) ~ Kiln ~ (Firemaking XP) ~ Furnace ~ (Smithing XP) ~ Obelisk ~ (Summoning XP) ~ Loom ~ (Crafting XP) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7. Gathering Resources for Cap When people in the clan chat mention capping, they are referring to gathering all the resources that you are allowed each week, with the reset of that cap occurring every Monday at around 13:07 UTC. Capping is not a requirement to be in the clan but you can get free XP from this. You earn a fealty rank (ranges from 0-3) when you earn enough resources consecutively on a weekly basis, and you can use that fealty rank to rank up in our clan. The higher your fealty rank is, the more weekly bonus XP you get after activating your buff via the Avatar Control Stone. You will receive a message in your chat box when you have gathered enough resources for a fealty rank. This message will say something along these lines: "You have gathered enough resources to claim XP from the quartermaster". The above picture is the window that will appear when you enter the citadel. What each coloured box means: • The lime green box shows the total amount of resources that you have gathered at all skill plots. It will show x amount out of the total you can gather of 2700. • The purple box shows the icons of each plot, and clicking on it shows the information about the plot. • The blue box shows the name of the plot currently selected and the tier of that plot. All of our plots are the highest tier, which is tier 7. • The orange box shows the name of the resource you can gather at that plot, the amount of each resource you have gathered there, and amount of each resource that the entire clan has gathered out of a goal amount that the admin team has placed on that resource. • The red box shows the lock status of the resource. A closed orange lock means the admin team has locked that resource so no more can be gathered from it. An open orange lock means that the resource is unlocked for use until the goal amount is reached and once the goal is met the resource will become locked. An open grey lock means the resource is available to gather freely, even when the plot goal has been reached. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. Plots' Unique Qualities Certain plots have unique qualities about them: • The Summoning plot only allows you to gather about 1/10 of your total cap i.e. 270/2700. • The Mining plot offers 3 different resources that can be gathered from it, all for the same XP. • The Smithing plot requires resources from the kiln plot and the mining plot in order to be used. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. How to Gather from Plots Woodcutting: Just click on a root and chop to gather timber. When it disappears, switch roots or wait for it to reappear. Mine: Just click on a mining spot; stone, ore (silver) or precious ore (gold). Stone is mostly used for upgrades in the clan citadel, whilst ores and precious ores are used to make bars and precious bars in the Furnace plot. Barbecue: For this one you can make stew, cut fish, or grill fish to gather rations; all provide the same amount of resources for cooking. Kiln: For this one, you have to click on piles of logs to throw them into the kiln to make charcoal. Once a corner is filled, it will not be emptied until all of the other corners are filled as well, so do it in a circle or work with other players. Furnace: First shovel ore from both bins for that type of ore into the furnace. Then move the hot bars into the mould to cool them. Once all are cooled down, throw them into the open hatch. This will gather regular bars (silver) or precious bars (gold). Loom: Click on a loom spot with string to make cloth, and gradually it will go down. All loom spots will be refilled when they are all empty. Obelisk: You have to click on one of the 4 corner obelisks, where the correct one is lit up. This will gather minions which is shared amongst other plots' resources. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 10. Frequently Asked Questions Q1. Does using a better tier tool let me gather resources faster? No, all tools used appear as rune tools and don't provide any bonus except XP boosting tools such as the Dwarven Army Axe for cooking. Q2. Why am I not getting an experience boost while capping? You might have not activated your buff. To do so, right click the Avatar Control Stone and click "Attune to Avatar" as shown below: The stone is found in the Avatar Habitat (located in the Town Square), which you can easily access via the Citadel Information button near your minimap: Once you have done that, select the "Experience boost" buff in the available choices: Q3. Do I have to limit myself to capping at just one skill plot? No, you can cap on as many different plots as you would like. Most people just prefer to get experience in one skill that they're trying to get a higher level in. Q4. Do I have to gather all of my resources in one sitting? No, you can go to the citadel and continue capping as many times during the week as you like, and leaving or logging out will save the resource cap that you are currently at. Q5. Do I have to gather all of my resources per week to maintain my fealty rank? No, you just need to gather enough resources until you get a message in your chat box saying that you have gathered enough resources to obtain bonus XP from the Quartermaster. It is usually around one-third of the maximum cap e.g. 2700. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Clan Avatar Guide ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. How to Unlock Them as Pets A clan avatar is a pet that is unlocked when joining a clan with an Avatar Habitat. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Buffs This is the one that people care about the most. In order to select a buff, right click the Avatar Control Stone and click "Attune to Avatar" as shown below: The stone is found in the Avatar Habitat (located in the Town Square), which you can easily access via the Citadel Information button near your minimap: Once you have done that, select the buff that you desire in the available choices: Here is the list of the possible buffs that an avatar may have: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Skilling Bonus The most important bonus to most people, and the one mainly used when summoned for the clan, is the "Skilling Bonus". In order to gain the 6% bonus experience, you must have fealty rank 3. Otherwise, you get somewhere between 3-5% bonus experience depending on your fealty rank. It also stacks with the following bonuses: • Bonus experience in any skill. • Auras • Goldsmith Gauntlets. • POH Altars. • Enhanced Yaktwee Stick. • Refer-a-Friend Bonus. It does NOT work with the following: • Players wielding a greegree. • Ectofuntus • Circus • Penguin Points. • Experience Lamps. • Urns • Experience from Quest Rewards. • Pyramid Plunder. In multi-combat areas, you only get the bonus from the target you are attacking, and not the rest of the group that you are attacking. Back to Top
